It was lovely to see the the details about the history of the house (there was a plaque about it on one of the walls). The room was spacious, and the complimentary breakfast was nice; it included some local foods that we enjoyed trying. The instructions provided were all in English throughout the house, which made it very easy to navigate. There were some guidebooks provided and as well as a puzzle in the living room, and chairs and table on the deck where we are dinner one night (a wonderful view; other nights we ate indoors). The host was also easy to get ahold of and friendly.
I would absolutely stay here again!
This is a former Postmans Station House near Borgarnes. Lovingly renovated according to plans and photos. I was the only one there and I loved everything about it! The breakfast was self-serve and abundant. There is a Bonus and Netto in town if you want to make your own dinner. Be aware there is no microwave. My room included an enSuite, a table and chairs, and multiple beds (I only used the single twin). I spend three nights, which was enough to go to explore the area and take a few hikes. Loved staying here!
Unique and memorable stay in the old postman’s house. Each room had its own charm, and the host (who was super lovely during our check in) was nice enough to upgrade us to a room with a private bathroom. It’s only a short drive from the west peninsula and Borgarnes, and would highly recommend for anyone driving through the area.
