Great place to stay

Perfect for our stay to see the puffins! Quiet, clean, comfortable accommodations.

Everything very clean and tidy. Ideal location in the middle of town. No complaints at all.

The Lava Guesthouse was immaculate! The kitchen and bathroom facilities were extremely clean. Overall, a great stay for our family!

For a guesthouse/shared kitchen this was perfect stay. Everything was simple with check in, owners were present and friendly, kitchen was well stocked with plates utensils. Bathrooms were clean and were 2 per floor.

This property is as beautifully appointed. It exceeded our expectations. We did struggle briefly to find it. It would benefit from a clearer sign saying Lava Guesthouse or mention in the communications that it is also known as VIK.

Hotel is in a great location on the beautiful island. Very comfortable and very friendly host. Kitchen available with a Bonus around the corner. You found the best place to stay.

The hotel was very clean, and sent located. The kitchen was well equipped, and the bathroom was very modern.

I do not suggest booking here. It is a run down, scary looking place with no services. The building and location are so shady/creepy that my girl friends and I left minutes after we arrived. I would compare this place to a motel or worse, a shack. They don't even have a front desk or someone to talk to, you could only call a random number for questions or comments. The way into the place is through a code which anybody could access. Also, guests staying here share a bathroom. So odd. Side note: We asked for a refund. Lava Guesthouse did not agree, even though we left minutes after our arrival. Avoid at all costs!!

Easy check in and clean facilities!

The room was spacious and clean with all the amenities needed for a comfortable stay. In a great location - walkable to grocery store, plenty of good restaurants, and attractions like the lava fields. Check-in was easy and instructions were clear. Would highly recommend!

One of the very few accommodation options on the island. The rooms and bathrooms are recently renovated and comfortable. Kitchen is very well equipped.

Our room was right off the kitchen and there were two families with small children - no soundproofing. Otherwise, wonderful stay

Overall nice place. Would stay there again I just wish they had a clothes dryer because Iceland can get wet.

We stayed for two nights. Perfect location. 5 min walk from the ferry. Right in the center of the town and beside an amazing restaurant Gott and across from ice cream shop, yogurt bar and a minute from a microbrewery bar. We walked the cliff walk to see the puffins but there are plenty of tours too. The guesthouse was also perfect. We traveled with two small children and we were worried that a shared bathroom would be inconvenient but that was not at all the case. There were two immaculately clean, well stocked bathrooms on the floor and having access to a kitchen and fridge was another great advantage when traveling with children. The Bonus supermarket was a minute walk from the guest house and we stocked up on supplies for breakfast and sandwiches for hiking. Overall we loved it and highly recommend. We would love to stay there again.

Really comfy beds and heated floors in the bathroom! What more could you ask for? Shared kitchen was well stocked and really friendly owner!
