The check-in process is a bother. They ask that you download an app and use that for communication regarding cottage number and door code. So, you go through all those steps and await check-in information that doesn't arrive via the app, but through email. The app is never used again since check-out is simply scanning a QR code on the back of your door. The app needs to be done away with.
Vík Cottages are very cute and clean. They are small spaces with neighboring units attached. We had a small view of the sea, but mostly it was scenery of other buildings and the road.
The walk to the main hotel for breakfast was a breeze, but we found both the eggs and the bacon to be undercooked. It was a disappointing buffet for the price.
Not a stunning experience, but overall we slept well and enjoyed the space in the cottage.

Nice small cabins. Problem is the hot water seems to be shared with to adjoining cabins and we had cold hot water eve and in the morning.

Our room 1H did not have a working tv and the shower doors did not meet the floor so the water came out from the bottom and got the entire floor wet. Otherwise it was average at best. Would not stay there again.

It was a great stay for two nights. It was quiet and close to everything. Just be aware that if you or your neightbor do noises you will hear them. The shower is super small and the water goes out of it.
