The staff were friendly and helpful and the breakfast was good. The condition of the lobby and rooms, tho comfortable, need a lot of care. The carpets are stained and frayed. This hotel has great potential but needs some serious investment.

Thankfully only had a 1 night stay here before going to catch a flight the girl on the desk checking us in was litterly the only good thing about the hotel. She was lovely. Our room was very run down torn carpet and not clean. The bathroom was disgusting, sink plug was brown with dirt and shower was the same. We got up at 5am to shower and catch our flight only to discover we had no water. Went to use phone to call down to reception to realise it wasn't working. Hubby rang with his mobile to get a guy who basically said sorry workers hit pipe there's no water and hung up. Not so much as an offer of bottled water to even brush our teeth. We gathered our stuff and went down to check out. Not a staff member to b found. Eventually found someone putting kitchen stuff out who just said aye leave your cards out there on the reception desk and thay was it. I have never been in a worse hotel in my life. 3 star is very generous. It was awful and there is no way I would ever return. Do yourselves a favour and book somewhere else. You have been warned

The rooms are very tired and require updating. Maintenance issues with the plumbing require fixing. Bath towels are no bigger than a facecloth. Never had a piece of beef that was tougher than my shoe leather. On the plus side breakfast was very good. Good location but not a lot about locally. Need to drive. Taxis are a nightmare as they do not seem to like going out that far.

This was one of the worst hotel stays I’ve experienced. Upon arrival, mattresses lined the hallways, and the common areas were in poor condition, cobwebs, dirty windows, and damaged carpets. Our room had a strong odor, and the carpet was ripped and bunched up, exposing sharp tracks and nails. The bathroom was also in bad shape, with a corroding toilet. At the front desk, we were told these issues were known and related to ongoing repairs after housing refugees, along with recent water problems. None of this was disclosed at booking, despite the listing claiming recent renovations. We were moved to an “upgraded” room, but aside from an ocean view, conditions were similar it was unclean, with lingering odors and a heavily stained mattress. The water was dangerously hot and difficult to control, and when we called for help, the response was dismissive. The next morning, we found bugs on our towels. At that point, we stopped raising concerns as no other rooms were available. The location is also misleading, while it appears close to Dublin, travel time exceeded an hour due to traffic and tolls. I do want to note the front desk staff was accommodating and tried their best, and one breakfast staff member, Will, was especially kind. This review is not a reflection of the staff, but of management and ownership. Overall, the hotel did not match its advertised condition, and the lack of transparency was unacceptable.

The general condition of the hotel was poor and it just seemed cold and dirty with a lack of pride taken in the hotels building and the guest rooms. The Hotel room was very warm, it seemed like the heating was constantly on as the radiators were always very hot and it never felt like they were getting cooler . You couldn't sleep at night it was like a sauna. We tried to move the temperature setting on the wall gauge in our room but the gauge started to constantly make a ticking noise every 2 minutes and this went on and on for a long period of time, so we had to change it back again for it to stop ticking. There were bits of carpet missing in our room, the floor area around the door had no carpet which was a safety hazard. Toilet wouldn't flush properly. Staff were ok but could be a lot better. On a positive note the location right by the beach and sea is great and it's a lovely setting, although it doesn't really make up for the let down of the hotel as I probably wouldn't stay here again. We were left disappointed, as what we had seen on the hotel website with how the hotel, its guest rooms and the overall way the hotel is marketed was a little misleading. I never am one to leave a review and certainly not a negative one, although as we were so disappointed with are overall experience, I had to write one on this occasion.
