This is a very cool hotel. We are giving it 4 stars because of the service we received our first night. Yes, it was later in the evening when we arrived for dinner and drinks, however, it was obvious that staff was annoyed that we had come in - even though there were others in the restaurant and bar. We had to flag down a server every time we needed a drink.

First of all - the building is beautiful. Th e lobby was beautifully decorated as well. Now about the room. We were given room 110. Three outside walls. Heating is co trolled by the reception and is regularly turned off. Our room was freezing most of the time. We asked reception multiple times to turn the heat on. They did, it got warmer, and then it was turned off again and I had to spend the morning in bed under covers. This was ridiculous. Last day there was one young employee - Stefan- who was the only one who actually seemed to care and made sure the last night the heat stayed on. That’s what we asked for so can’t complain that it got too hot. Couldn’t really regulate the temp by opening windows as they were right over the kitchen vent in one side and over the rubbish bins on the other side. The paid for pricey breakfast was not worth it. Very limited and some days there weren’t even any juices or pastries. Room was somewhat clean - dirty carpet. Comfortable bed and one of the best hotel pillows I’ve seen. Bathroom had no venting and co sensation stayed in walls and mirrors most of the day when the heat wasn’t on. O stall I would not recommend that specific room. Others might be better. Oh, our last morning there was a lovely lady at the front desk who was actually very pleasant and nice.

Hotel lobby was great but the room smelt of damp and musty, couldn’t open the windows due to being above the kitchen and the vent noise. No hot water in the morning to shower! Disappointed as the hotel is large and looks great from the front. Staff were pleasant.

Would stay again but definitely wouldn’t eat here - Clean modern and comfortable rooms with easy parking! But North restaurant poor at both dinner and breakfast. Food was ok but dinner front of house staff were dreadful, very poorly organised, slow, rude and kept forgetting what had been asked or what they were supposed to be doing. At breakfast, options for food were very low and very limited with lots of items running out and not being replenished, even when asked if there was more available.

Hotel was in a good location, hotel was charming. First night dinner was excellent. Next morning breakfast and service was terrible (1 out of 5 the most). Food selection was non existent, took the staff forever to refill the buffet and staff looked like they wanted to be somewhere else, definitely not friendly. Would not do that breakfast inclusion again.

If your GPS tells you to drive up Lover’s Walk and you are not familiar with the roads in Ireland reroute immediately!!! We had a gorgeous view from our balcony.. I would recommend hotel staff take an extra look around the radiator as we found someone else’s underwear hiding behind it. Overall we had a lovely stay and the staff was friendly. We unfortunately booked around the time of a wedding so we had to wait for our room despite not being attached to the party. We also had to endure their shouting under our bedroom window at all hours. Paying €15 per person for buffet was also a little disappointing when I only wanted coffee in the morning.
