The Devonian

I must say, the owners are lovely people. I little hiccup upon checkin-in as the door was locked, I hadn't received and access code due to an email mix up, though the description did say it was open until 18:30, and it was 15:00. My phone wasn't working fir calls so I had to borrow to pedestrians phones to call the hotel. The room, though cute, was freezing throughout the night even with the radiator on full heat due to poor insulation on the window so I honestly slept very poorly. The room, however, was very cute as was the ensuite. Towels were clean and a little kettle with ample tea and coffee was provided which I always appreciate. The TV brightness was very dark and I couldn't work out how to alter it. The breakfast was fabulous as was the décor and overall it's a very nice place. The staff are definitely definitely gems.

Great host, spotless room, well presented and very comfortable with a great breakfast each morning. Definitely recommend and would stay again. May not be good for those who struggle with stairs.

Cosy clean room that was great value for my one night stay

Had a lovely stay at the Devonian. The room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was delicious and the owner and staff were incredibly helpful and friendly.

We have recently stayed at this wonderful guest house for two nights. Kevin was an absolutely amazing host who could not do enough for us. He was very welcoming & shared local information & advice. Kevin went above & beyond & arranged for us to have access to a lovely family room following checking out so I could prepare for an interview. I can’t recommend staying here enough! We will definitely be back very soon. Thank you so much 😊

Thoroughly enjoyable stay, accommodated our preferred check in time, and very welcoming staff. Everthing was spotless, and room/bathroom cleaned daily. Toiletries provided as is tea coffee facilities in room. Breakfasts were fantastic, such a lovely varied menu catering for all tastes. Centrally situated for all attractions. Would definitely stay here again.

This was a proper British room. The staff was extremely kind, helpful and friendly and the breakfast options were plentiful. They were also able to accommodate my gluten and dairy allergy which is always appreciated when travelling. Highly recommend

We had a pleasant stay at the Devonian, a very nice and spacious bedroom. We didn't try the breakfast, on arrival the host said breakfast wasn't included but when settled in I had checked my booking through Expedia which said breakfast was included. So we just decided to get breakfast out on the Saturday to save any hassle. We were in room 16 which was a bit of a climb up the stairs with no elevator to hand. Not so much a criticism but something to consider when booking if stairs are a struggle for you. Aside from that a very nice venue to stay at.

Lovely hotel. My room was very homely and comfortable. I was on the top floor so had a view of the sea, which was only a couple of minutes walk away. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend and would definitely stay here again.

THE HOTEL 🏨 WAS AMAZING 😻. THE ROOM WAS VERY COMFORTABLE. AND THE BED WAS THE BEST I SLEPT 🛌 LIKE ❤️ A BABY. 👶 THE BREAKFAST 🍳 WAS VERY GENEROUS WITH THE CHOICE OF FRUIT 🍇 JUICES, CERIAL OF YOUR CHOICE AND THE YOGUR , FRUIT 🍈 SALAD, AND TOAST WITH CONDAMENTS AND FRESHLY COOKED BREAKFAST 🍳 MADE TO ORDER

Lovely place just up from the sea. We were in the basement room which was a little noisy in the morning as it was underneath the dining room, more just squeaky floors as it is a lovely old house.

Massive thanks to the staff. Check in was between 2PM and 6.30 PM, which wasn’t convenient for me, so they gave me a security code to get in the front door, and left my door key in an envelope inside so I could arrive when I was ready. Also looked after my luggage while I was out for the afternoon. Owner is really helpful with guides as to where to go, and how to get there. Nothing seemed too much trouble. Hotel exceeded expectations of a budget hotel, quiet room, comfortable bed, en-suite room with tea/coffee making facilities, and a TV. Topped off with a massive breakfast. Honestly couldn’t think of anyway it could be better. Would definitely recommend.
