Amazing! Castle exceeded our expectations. My family and I enjoyed two wonderful nights at the castle. Spent one day exploring the castle and the nearby village and the next day we went to Rome. Also, I had forgot my bag with passports and called the reception and they quickly found the bag with all contents intact. I am beyond grateful for the caring staff.

The building itself was very cool. The furnishings need some thought and money put into them. The spaces could feel and be used so much better than they are so it's a bit disappointing. The amenities are not very clear. What is stated on the website was not mentioned or encouraged by the staff. We never did get the wifi to work. The staff was not rude, but not welcoming either. It's too bad because there is very little to do in the town below so the castle really should be an experience. The breakfast was very good. The dinner was just a bit above average, but not badly priced.

Amazing opportunity to experience castle in a new way was warmly appreciated by our family even though we spent the night at the old villa next to the castle (where they have some rooms as well). The breakfast was great and served at the castle.

The castle was everything we hoped for! Furnished with tapestries and suits of armor. Circular stairway in our two-story tower room. Drinks on the terrace at sunset, views over the countryside. Nerola itself is quite small, but charming with its tiny streets and clinging-to-the-hillside houses. Only disappointment was that the pool was drained during our visit, which was also during the “El Infierno” heatwave.

We booked a room here for three days as it offered a swimming pool and spa facilities including a massage centre. Firstly, access was difficult as the lift went to the second floor and reception was about 20 steps down on the first floor and our room was down even more stairs. The door to our room was not secure as the double-doors had previously been forced and the bolt no longer secured the second part of the door. There was a trip hazard of frayed carpet on the steps up to the bathroom. The shower comprised a shower attachment to the bath taps and there was mould around the bath. There was no internet connection on the wi-fi. The swimming pool was closed the day we arrived and we were told they did not know when it would reopen. The massage centre was closed because "they had two company bookings" whilst we were there. All our complaints were treated as a minor inconvenience by the staff. After two hours we decided to move on and cancelled the other two nights of our stay the first evening. To round things off, the evening meal was very poor.

Well signposted from the main road Very friendly check-in Rooms: really are in a medieval castle, with thick stone walls, and a warren of passages to explore. You're free to wander around the castle, inside and out, and come upon surprising lounges with huge tableaux on the walls or garden terrasses near the pool. Our room was quite basic: no bedside table lamps, a leaky shower and very intermittant hot water supply. But catching the sunset over the castle walls and wandering down into the little village of Nerula at dusk made up for it. There is a reasonably priced restaurant in the castle but serves things like octopus carpaccio and didn't seem to have a kids menu or vegetarian options. The pizzeria in the village was bustling and we recognised a number of hotel guests there ... Breakfast was great: served in the old kitchens of the castle, there was a friendly atmosphere and a good choice. We were quite sorry to leave and wished we'd stayed another night.

We stayed for one night and had an evening meal in the castle. Overall the stay was good, castle is impressive and a lovely experience. The evening meal and staff were very friendly and helpful, as was the reception Manager who kindly helped us with our cases. The breakfast was decent with a range of food choices, however, there were no hot food options when we went at 8.15am and they were still bringing out some food out. The only negative is that we are still waiting for the two cappuccinos we ordered at breakfast ☹️

Greatly located in the Italians hillside with miles of veiws from the balcony and poolside, Unfortunately this was the only enjoyment we were able to get from our 2 night stay due to several minor issues, firstly on arrival we were told the restaurant was closed due to a wedding party taking place, fair enough. So we headed to our room (which was impressive with its grand size and archways) went to shower before heading down the hill to the local village restaurant, unfortunately no hot water. Go to reception resets the boiler. 3 minutes of hot water and it cuts out again. 2 cold showers it is then. Return back from the village bar around 11 have a quick game of pool due to the wedding party still going. 12 o’clock back to the room and get to sleep.. 3 o’clock woken by extremely loud music vibrating though the room (enough to make cement fall from the bathroom ceiling) 3.40 complain at reception. Next morning complain to manager about water and last nights music. Head to Rome. Return around 10.30pm quickly pop to village reaturant again for dinner who very kindly made pizzas for us. Head back for shower and bed, freezing cold water again.!! Next morning check out, complain to a different member of staff. No compensation I.e letting the €8 pool bar tab go.

We stayed only one night at the castle, but plan to return for more. The locationn is amazing and our experience in the Pronce’suite was above expectations. Pool and hot tub with amazing view were also adding to the magic of it all. The food was also exquisite. We would even return after day trips to Rome, the place is so nice, it would justify the commute. Very satisfied!

Fabulous castle with amazing views. Breakfast is excellent. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Rooms are basic . A very popular wedding venue so be aware weekends are extra busy . We only ate once at the Castle . Dinner was good at the beginning and then service and food deteriorated as the evening went on. Nerola has a small interesting old part but in the main is a small modern village with just one pizzeria/ trattoria ( very good food though) .

Although the pictures are misleading (pool is not as big as depicted, entrance bridge is not as big as depicted) due to clever camera angles I'm glad they did this otherwise I may have booked elsewhere and missed one of the best experiences I've ever had on my travels. The place and people are awesome and I'm going back. Food is fantastic as are the kitchen and wait staff. The area is perfect if you want to be out of town on top of a hill but only a 25-minute drive to Rome. It's not a luxury hotel by any means but it is as unique as you can get and I enjoyed it more than the 4 and 5 star places I normally stay at. I could go on but as Nike says... Just do it.
