Hotel La Favorita

A nice modern hotel approx 10km from the old town. The internet service wasn’t the greatest.

Staff was great, friendly and accommodating. The hotel was well appointed, located not too far from the city center and perfectly situated to get onto the highway.

Overall, we had a pleasant stay at La Favorita. The staff were helpful and polite. The room was tidy and comfortable and we enjoyed the breakfast.The only drawback was the unexpected €15 tax we had to pay when we were checking out.

This is a functional hotel that is located near the highway in an estate that seems to be a little forgotten about with some empty units. The public areas are good, and the rooms fine. The only drawback was the air conditoning was not working, or didn't work very well and that made the room even on a cool night a little uncomfortable for me. I had to log into wifi with social media and it made Facebook want to make me undergo a series of security questions later, which was odd. We didn't eat there but the breakfast was fine. Overall if you want a business hotel that is clean located near the highway then this is a good choice

Wi-Fi not very good - kept dropping. Food (dinner) excellent, as was the service. Breakfast surprisingly not very good.

The hotel was newly built. I spent two days there and chose it since it was outside of the city centre and closer to where I needed to be. A bit of mold a crevice in the shower that could easily be taken care of. The restaurant was very good and we did eat there both evenings. Breakfast was a number of buffets which offered something for everyone. I am gluten free/dairy free person and had no issue navigating the food menus at this facility. The only minor issue is that Google can't find the one address that it is listed at.Via S. Cognetti De Martiis 1 didn't work. Via Pietro Verri No. 13 did.

It is impossible to criticise the staff, the service or the cleanliness of Hotel La Favorita. The free wifi is perfectly adequate, the breakfast buffet is suitable for all tastes including vegans, the rooms are not only clean but are a decent size with modern fittings and the most storage space I've ever seen. The one thing that stops me rating it 5 stars is the location. Normally, an out of town hotel doesn't bother me if there's adequate public transport but unfortunately public transport in Mantova, especially out to the retail and business park where La Favorita is situated, is patchy and infrequent, and shuts down entirely after 9pm. I'd have walked to and from the historic centre if it had been safe to do so, but the hotel staff indicated that this would have involved walking alongside dual carriageways with no dedicated pedestrian route. A taxi costs between €10-€15 to get from the hotel to the station and though it's easy to organise at the hotel, when you've just finished eating out in the centre of the city at 9pm or later, the only reliable taxi rank is at the station where, because all the cabs are busy, you have to call a radio taxi number and wait. This is no problem if you have your own car or, for business people using the hotel and its facilities, using transport provided for you, but for the ordinary tourist the cost of taxi journeys makes it more sensible to choose a more expensive hotel in the city. I'd love to recommend La Favorita but it's too isolated

The only down side was it is a bit far out from Mantua, you need to get taxi in which costs around 14 Euros , it is about 5/10 minutes to get there. You cannot walk to the centre you have to drive or get a taxi. But good price and very clean and friendly staff good for a short break

The staff is very friendly and efficient. Breakfast is fantastic; clean dining room and excellent food...real food, not continental style. Location is clse to a shopping center and a short, straight drive to the center of Mantova. The large reception area allowed us to receive guests comfortably/semi-privately. We'll stay here again.

This is hotel aimed at business people. Located well outside the city by the tangenziale you either need a car or rely on the local buses which only run every half hour (it's only 8 minutes to the centre by bus but over 20 walking on a main road with no pavement). This is the only drawback to the hotel, which is in a shopping centre with a very good supermarket.

Fabulous location and exceptional service. Use the hotel’s parking unless you like finding a space in the center of an Italian city!

Very convenient location few minutes by car from the town, shopping mall in the immediate neighbourhood, safe area, free parking. Excellent restaurant serving genuine regional dishes of quality, very professional and nice personal. Good wines. Great value for money!

Very welcoming staff who took good care of me from arrival to departure. The breakfast was delicious and there was a huge variety. They also arranged for me a car last minute for a meeting out of town. Thumbs up!

Very satisfied but credit card hacking is problem... I actually changed my credit card three times.

Weekend stay for a relatives wedding in Mantua, read the reviews and thought this sounded like a good option. The location is a little out of the centre of Mantua, although not far- approx 5 minute drive. Generally good for the price which included a decent breakfast.

One night in Mantua/Mantova and this fitted the bill as we had a car. Rooms not overly expensive and looked good but a few cracks starting to appear.. Town was walkable and a very pleasant view as approach. On site restaurant looked good but we did not try it.

We found all staff to be extremely helpful! All were friendly, and welcoming.
