Catalonia Montego Bay - All Inclusive

This year was the first under new ownership that we stayed there. Really enjoyed the resort- the staff is AMAZING! I love coming back every year seeing the same faces;) See you again in April;)

There was some construction ongoing …parking was limited; food/ menu needs improvements

The hotel is good but there were a few issues: alcoholic beverages . The old Tom Gin brewed in Jamaica was terrible the bar had Bombay Sapphire & Tanqueray. I asked for those & was refused, we need to be a club member for those! Restaurants were all pre booked & we could only eat at the buffet. One should be advised in advance re the club drinks & restaurant bookings. Otherwise it was alright.

We were disappointed with our recent stay at this resort. Despite booking our room months in advance, we arrived to find the resort overbooked and our reserved room unavailable. The staff advised us to contact the third-party site we used to request a refund and mentioned we would be issued a resort credit as compensation—unfortunately, the credit was never provided. The room we were assigned had a beautiful view, which was one of the few positives of our stay. However, the room itself was outdated, and there was a visible crack in the door that compromised both privacy and noise control. The condition of the furnishings and general upkeep fell short of what we expected for the price and rating of the resort. A significant portion of the resort was under renovation, something that was not disclosed prior to booking. Key amenities—including the jerk bar and the swim-up bar and pool—were closed for 5 to 6 days during our visit. This greatly limited the on-site dining and leisure options, which was disappointing. Most of the staff were friendly and professional, and we appreciated their efforts. However, some employees seemed untrained or unsure about basic resort services, which led to inconsistent and occasionally frustrating service. Overall, the resort did not meet expectations. Transparency about availability and amenities, along with better communication and follow-through, would have significantly improved the experience.

Had some amazing food places included. however our first day we did have two instances where members of staff walked into our room without knocking. We brought this to the attention of the front desk and had no further issues after. They are currently renovating so we did listen to a lot of construction noises through the day. Bar staff was absolutely amazing and we enjoyed the majority of our stay and plan to come back.

Stayed for 5 full days not including travel days. Here's my review: Pros: -Nice beach/only about 3 feet deep. Perfect if you have young children. -Close to airport, "Hip-Strip", "Doctor's Cave" beach. -Buffet food is pretty much average in comparison to other all inclusives, which I guess is all you can ask for. -Swimming pool is big enough. -Lots of options for snacks during the day.(Ice cream station, sandwich station, crepes station, jerk-hut) Cons: -Their restaurants are absolutely horrendous. You're better off just eating at the buffet. I ate at their Italian restaurant. I had the lasagna. They were to cheap to use real tomato sauce, or even the canned stuff. Instead they opted to squirt ketchup all over the rubbery, probably microwaved lasagna. It was so gross, I literally took one bite and was done. I left with my family who also ate none of their entrees after we ate desert, which actually was not bad. We ate at the buffet after to fill up. Catalonio needs to do better here. -here's only like 6 or 7 umbrellas around this big pool. I mean, c'mon. Can you invest in some more? It's a joke to have so few. -Rooms are seriously outdated. -Shower in my mother in laws room didn't work. We complained, they never fixed it. She had to take a bird bath every day. They offered her a room switch, but who wants to pack again after completly unpacking? How about they just inspect the room and make sure everything is fully functioning before giving it out? -Safe didn't work either.

Location, Location!!! I feel like this place had the location and the beautiful view. An island inside another island. The Hotel itself needs a lot of work! Felt like a dungeon going up and down the stairs since they only had one functioning elevator. You had to go through building to only reach that one working elevator. That was a hassel. During my stay, they just started construction! Food was great. The jerk Chicken was the best! Moist Chicken w/ a side of that RED jerk sauce. Lots of options for food and drinks. Felt like its geared towards family more than adults! They need more adult entertainment. They have a lot of entertainment for kids! Overall, 5/10. Staff were friendly and inviting. Shout-out to Shantoy, (Front Desk) Jada-Marie (Front Desk), Damion(bartender) and Collin(bartender). I will re-visit in 2 years to see what updating they've done.

Good staff and very friendly. Hotel needs some updates room are old.

Food option were minimal, 2 out of 3 restaurants were closed.

The people were very nice and welcoming although the facility was very outdated and needed a ton of updates.
