Casa Blanca Guesthouse - Hostel

I chose to stay here due to its convenient location in Nagasaki. No onsite parking available, but there is ample paid parking nearby. Check-in procedures were emailed to me to accommodate late arrival. I was able to make my way directly to my sleeping area with the package left for me and turn in my registration card in the morning at check-out. The rooms are set up as dormitory style with each bed space in its private area behind a curtain. You can hear the other residents in your dorm area, but there are quiet hours for sleeping, which everyone adhered to. Breakfast is self-serve, slices of toast with jam and juice from the fridge. Very basic, but given the hostel style setting it is exactly what I expected. A good place to stop off for the night during your visit to Nagasaki.

The hostel is located near a tram stop which made it easy to access the rest of Nagasaki. Our room was located on the 3rd floor and the staff very kindly helped us carry our luggage up the stairs. Check in was easy and the place is clean. There are quite a few staff working at the hostel, and we happened to bump into most of them when they were having their get-together. They are all very friendly and made us a yummy sashimi dish. Although I was sick and couldn't communicate much, my companion had a really great time talking to them. She had so much fun it became the highlight of our entire trip. Thank you for your hospitality!

Property was not as represented in the online photos. Lounge area small and run down. Not very comfortable for a long sit. The room we had didn’t have anywhere to hang wet stuff. No hooks or hangers. Very noisy. Could hear everything in the next room and the hallway where the washing took place. Walls could use a good washing and a coat of paint. The venting ducts all need cleaning in the common areas. Made my allergies bad.

Great location, staff friendly, clean. Only negative was noise; booked a private room and was lucky that the other guests were quiet because you could hear everything like there were no walls. Same with the traffic noises from the busy street outside. Luckily there was a fan in the room for some reason, and turning it on helped drown out the street noise.

This hostel was in great location and they even issued a discount card for the local attractions.

Perfect location!

Casa Blanca is a cute small hostel right on one of the main streets. Easy to get to by tram or a 15 minute walk from the train station. Situated close to Chinatown, shopping mall and a short walk to the port. However, I was booked in for 3 nights and left after 2. The mattress on the bunk bed was two futon type mattresses. I’m use to this in Japan but they are normally on the floor, not placed inside a bunk bed where it is clearly deep and should hold a normal mattress. I also had the bed that creaked terribly (if it had a firm normal mattress this probably wouldn’t have happened). Every tiny move I made it creaked loudly. The lady on the top bunk didn’t seem to appreciate this and started shouting at me. I know right?! I’ve never been made to feel so uncomfortable in a hostel. I packed my things first thing and found alternative accommodation.

Great place with an affordable single room even though it was on the 4th floor. The room was clean with ac and fan. Shower and toilets on the same floor was a bonus.

Overall great experience. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The other people staying at the hostel were also friendly and polite. Free wi-fi.

Nice private room with view of the street at ground level. Room is clean and comfortable.

Casa Blanca Guesthouse was conveniently located! You can easily walk to various sightseeing spots. And, the airport shuttle bus stop is just a 5 minutes walk away. Guests receive a discount coupon, which helps save a bit of money. Kind of wished the guesthouse offered bath wash, too. But overall, it was a great stay! Would definitely recommend!

Very clean, very inexpensive and nicer than it had to be in almost all ways. My only complaints are that the mattress was very thin and uncomfortable for my preferences since I like a softer bed and it would have been nice if there were curtains in the shared dorms to allow a little more privacy. Overall a good experience though, especially for the price it was a great value in a great area. The street was a little noisy but not so bad that earplugs couldn't drown out its entire sound.

I really enjoy the atmosphere and interior design of Casa Blanca Guesthouse. I was just disappointed because I hear all words from the whole floor in my private room. It was a bit annoying to hear the conversation clearly from the next room around 1am. Beyond that it is an awesome guesthouse.
