Chisun Grand Takayama

Nice, clean hotel close to train and bus stations. A little dated but well worth the price for one night. Staff was excellent and helpful.

Very clean, excellent location, friendly staff and great breakfast spread. The sound proofing was good. Stayed in a triple room which had huge beds and was very spacious in the corner.

Central location, easy to get to from train and bus station. Clean rooms, free coffee in the afternoon. Access to a common microwave. Spa bath and mist sauna was good.

Easy to find. Just a few minutes away. Come out of the station, walk ahead past the information centre, cross the road and walk straight ahead down the street. Walk past the 7 Bank and turn left. Hotel is on your right. We received such a warm welcome. We stayed 3 nights. The room was a reasonable size and we could put both cases open on the floor. The bed was very comfortable, water was hot and WiFi good. You can have breakfast downstairs for around AUD18. In the same room you can make complimentary tea and coffee during the day/evening. They also have a sauna and jacuzzi which was nice to use after a day of sightseeing. For those looking for a good coffee (almost Melbourne standard) and a smaller breakfast, turn left out of the hotel and immediate left again. Over on the right you will see Hids’ Cafe. We went both mornings. They open at 0630 so you can use even if you have an early train. To sum up, we loved this hotel, staff were very friendly and helpful, position is great, walking distance from everything and it is good value. We would definitely stay again.

Highly recommend. Two minutes walk to JR. Less than ten minutes walk to morning market. Very kind staff. Parking not free but indoor and totally safe. Plenty of dining options nearby.

The hotel hot springs/public bath were closed. The rest of the hotel met expectations.

Good option for Takayama as it is close to the railway station. Rooms are western style in bigger than the average Japanese hotel room. Did not have breakfast and the spa was out of order so cannot comment on these items

We enjoyed a three night stay while touring the greater Gifu area. The hotel is a bit older but is very well maintained. Everything is spotless, like most places in Japan. Comfortable room, including its size, bed/bedding. Very good breakfast value. Most importantly a real automatic European coffee maker with a strong roasted bean. And it’s available for free all day.
