This was my first time visiting Japan, and staying at Hotel Monday Asakusabashi was great! The hotel is just a 5-minute walk from the Asakusabashi train station (and 1 stop from nerf central - Akihabara!), which was a lifesaver in heat and humidity! The staff are multilingual, friendly, and incredibly thoughtful. They offered complimentary cooling towels to help with the heat and made the check-in and check-out process seamless. They helped me with a luggage forwarding service company—a game changer if you’re trying to travel light between cities. Highly recommend using it if needed! Amenities-wise, Hotel Monday offers a breakfast buffet (a mix of Japanese and Western options—tasty and satisfying), as well as laundry facilities for a small fee. Everything was clean and easy to use. I stayed in a standard double room, which was compact but cozy. The bed was very comfortable, and the room was spotless. There was just enough space for me and my 1–2 pieces of luggage. If you’re traveling with someone else or have more bags, I’d suggest upgrading to a deluxe or family room for a bit more room. The bathroom was a highlight! Like many places in Japan, the bidet was next-level—heated seat, front and back wash, privacy sound features… honestly, I need one of these at home lol! And the deep soaking tub was incredible after a long day of walking. Great value and great vibes! Would stay again!

Having stayed in many other hotels in Japan since, and another hotel in Tokyo, we came to realise how attentive reception staff were here and willing to help. In addition the location of the hotel is excellent - all you need in Tokyo is to be near a metro stop, this was near both the subway and JR lines so almost all sights are accessible! In addition the area offers very affordable food options such as Komeda’s and Ootoya to grab affordable eats! One downside is we were given a room facing the back of other buildings, quite common in built up areas. It seems some customers had to really push to get the road facing / brighter rooms. The rooms are also quite small - which is common particularly in Tokyo. Would definitely stay here again overall!

This hotel was the smallest room of the 6 places we stayed in during our 3 week trek through Japan, but it was clean and in great condition with comfortable beds. The staff was friendly and helpful. The reasonably priced breakfast buffet fueled us well for the busy days we had ahead of us. My biggest complaint…the pillow was small and not supportive. My daughter had extra pillows brought to her room and she said they were much better, so ask for those when you check in if you need a solid, supportive place to lay your head.

There is a little bit of sound leak from the hallway through the door but negligible most of the time.
