Hotel Route Inn Katori Sawara Ekimae

You can’t beat the location, just next door to the train station and a 10-minute walk to the historic merchant town. Room was more spacious than most. Dinner was excellent. Lots of choices for breakfast. Small but lovely onsen. Helpful and welcoming staff. Highly recommend.

1. someone is giving this undeserved high marks so I went low to help bring some reality. 2. Checkin is 3 and checkout is 10 AM, which is ot standard for the industry; 3. I requested an early checkin. They didn't respond. I showed up two hours early and they asked for 4000 yen (roughly half the cost for a full day); 4. the rooms were made for cabins on a small boat, small with quirky plumbing that serves both sink and shower. It's clean. The breakfast was actually good, to provide some balance to this review. The staff was nice, but in Japan the staff is always nice even when they're being inflexible. So I'm not sure what the niceness is worth. We did find a gem of a small traditional sushi house. In fact, that made the visit totally worthwhile. The price is also decent for more balance to the review. The negatives are as described but there's not much to choose from in the area.

Location, location , location!

The hotel was excellent value, less than a minute walk from the station with a public bath and buffet breakfast. The staff were friendly and helpful with quick and easy check in. There is a 7-11 just a couple of minutes away, so even if you get to the hotel late, you can grab a cheap meal and snacks. The only problem I had was breakfast on the first day. I arrived at the restaurant at 8:35am and there was almost no food left. There were others that arrived after me and we did not have enough to eat. The next day, I got to the restaurant before 7:30am and there was plenty of food, so please get in early to make the most of the breakfast.

Location is so.good as being a few minutes walking distance from Sawara train station. I found the cleanliness in the service area and room excellent, and the staff so nice and helpful. A police station is located nearby so as to guarantee the security around the hotel and train station. The only drawback may be the distance from the hotel to Tokyo. The train or bus ride to Tokyo takes near one and half hour. I would come back again, and recommend to friends.

Clean, good staff, easy parking.th e only thing need to bring to attention is the phone number didnot update, cox i am using GPS by phone number...so very confusing.

ほぼ駅直結です。線路横なので電車の音が気になるかと思ったのですが、１時間に一本程度で、防音もされているのか、ほとんど気になりませんでした。 スタッフの方がおもてなしの気持ちを持ってくれていて、素晴らしかったです。
