I had most pleasant stay here. Near to Shinjuku Station (200m), more culinary and shopping store. I recommended to stay here, clean and very helpful staff.

The hotel room it was ok not that small for Japanese standard hotel room, the location it was perfect close to JR Station, and subway station just next door. Many restaurants around the hotel. Very recommended.

We had two rooms at the hotel and found the queen bed room at bit on the small side but was clean and comfortable. Other room was a twin and for the extra room it had it was definitely worth the extra cost. Location was great for transport options and shops/food venues. Would recommend as an option.

Sunroute hotel’s staff are great all of them were very friendly and helpful, entrance to metro station is literally next door (at right walking out from hotel, kind of hidden) across the street there is a food court, a coffee shop and a convenience store, great location to walk around, there is also a department store across the hotel, taking the escalator next to the metro station and crossing the pedestrian bridge.

This was a fantastic find. Took the Narita Express from the airport to Shinjuku Station, then walked 2 blocks to the hotel.

Loved this hotel! We normally stay in Shibuya when we visit Japan, but we thought we’d try Shinjuku, and it’s awesome! Will probably come to this hotel again.

This is a older property that is in a VERY CONVIENIENT area. The breakfast is good abd the staff helpfull but it is very worn. Have stayed there for the last 3 years, good price for shinjuku! Bathrooms are old and toilets consistantly leak from the base, maybe something to do with the prefab method of construction and age? Still recommend due to location. Would get room cleaned everyday because i think staff readjusts toilet so it sits better.

Hotel Sunroute is a nice convenient hotel to stay in Shinjuku. It is close to the train station, shopping and dining options. It is also close to a lot of points of interest.I will highly recommend this to traveler that goes to Tokyo.

I like it is close to subway and shops. Shuttle bus is right at the hotel to take you to the airport. The only thing missing is they don’t provide any water or juice like other hotel.

I stayed here only becos the airport limo bus stops and picks up. Huge hotel, staff are impersonal and want you to do self check in and out . Rooms are not cleaned unless you ask for the service . Too impersonal and large for my liking .

Check-in process was simple and easy. Room amenities are good for the price. Room size is small for economy double. Assuming you’ll be walking around and touring the city all day, this likely isn’t an issue (it wasn’t for me). Location is perfect as it is a short walk distance from Shinjuku train station, as well as a walkable distance to all restaurants and bars. Limosine bus service also offered to/from Haneda Airport which is a major plus (not sure about Narita Airport).
One minor issue (I’m being picky here) is there is no water station to refill your hydroflask/water bottle. That aside, definitely recommend!

The Hotel Sunroute was just ok. The room wasn’t very clean and it was smaller than I was expecting, but we didn’t spend much time in the room anyways. The hotel definitely showed wear and tear on the walls and such. The staff was great but this hotel is definitely a hotel for tourists or tourist groups (as we saw many through our stay). Location was great with 2 major subway stations nearby. It’s also a short walk to downtown Shinjuku but it’s in a very quiet section of that area, as we experienced the loud nightlife in downtown Shinjuku. If you are looking for a more immersive Japanese experience, I would look elsewhere but this hotel was still a good choice.

Very expensive for very little. Didn’t even clean our room. No coffee or tea in the room. You have to collect sachets from reception. A queen bed that definitely wasn’t queen size. Basically no service at all. Even breakfast was a mess. A hotel that has tried to cram too many people in and give them nothing in return. And at £280/night it’s just blatant profiteering. Location next to Shinjuku station was good, that’s about all you can say as a positive for the place. We previously stayed in Ginza (B Ginza) in a cheaper hotel which was much nicer, cleaner, friendlier, provided good service. Go stay there instead and use the transport system to come this way when you want to. The bar was closed, the restaurant is overcrowded at breakfast (queue for fifteen to twenty minutes to get a table). One or two staff were friendly, but that is them, not the hotel. Just don’t stay here.
