What Guests Say About Their Stay

It was really wonderful. The owner was nice, the room is small but is REALLY comfortable. The area around is peaceful and so great to walk around at any time. It’s really clean and great, it’s close to a bus stop that takes you to the city, and also quite close to a station (Minami Senju) also has an option to go with JR Line. I will definitely return here on my next Tokyo trip.

Great location, Cosy but you can hear your neighbours, would not recommend if you are light sleeper. All great other than that.

Great hotel for two travelers who want to experience a Japanese hotel. I felt very safe traveling alone with my son. I felt very safe with restrooms down the hall and showers on the first floor. We brought a charger with multiple ports as there was only one outlet. The bus stop is a few easy blocks away.

For a budget hotel, you can’t really complain. The location is great and situated in a nice, quiet part of Tokyo. A few things to note: there didn’t seem to be any staff present during our stay, which was a little confusing when we arrived before check-in as we weren’t sure whether we could leave our luggage or where to put it. I think we may have drawn the short straw with our room, as it was right next to the bathroom and was noisy 24/7. The bins outside the room also sounded like they were being emptied around 11pm every night. Another thing worth mentioning for anyone staying here soon is that construction has started right next to the hotel. Work begins very early, and because the windows on every floor are open, the drilling and loud banging echo throughout the building each morning. I understand this is outside of the hotel’s control, but it’s definitely something to be aware of. Overall, it’s a decent place to stay if you’re looking for a budget hotel in Tokyo.

The hotel is relatively quiet and in a convenient location, making it easy to get around the city. However, the rooms are extremely small and feel quite cramped. The beds are made of concrete with a thin mattress on top, which was not very comfortable. Another downside is that the reception is only staffed during limited hours during the day, so assistance is not always available when needed. However the stay was very cheap, so in summary I'd recommend it.

Room was fine, check in was easy. The concrete walls made the room get cold very quickly. When using the heater the air got stuck in the top of the room making to top bunk very warm while the lower bunk was left colder. Bus was convenient but pretty far from minami senju ~15 min and Asakusa~20 min walk. No way to change the location but the heating situation could have been improved by a fan to circulate air better within the room

I liked that I had my own private space, and a key. The hotel was in a nice quiet area, close to transit, making it accessible to everywhere. While you walk from the station to the hotel at night you get a beautiful view of the tokyo skytree all lit up. There’s also multiple convenience stores within walking distance open 24h. The only con is that the shower rooms were really gross. Moldy ceilings, plumbing on the verge of coming out of the wall, and water temperature never stayed in one place. Other than that I would recommend this place.

If your traveling on your own and on a budget its a great place to stay the room was clean and the hotel is 15 minutes walk away from minami senju train station and the bus stop is not far away 30 minutes walk to Asakusa. The showers could use a face lift but overall the kangaroo hotel was a good experience. Clean bed and very affordable.

the price point for this hotel was great, you could walk to Senso-ji within 20 - 25 minutes, the room itself is simple but fine, has everything you need, the bed is ok for a few nights I wouldn't recommend for a longer stay. The bathrooms definitely need a proper clean or renovation, it is an odd setup with toilets on floor 1 and 2 and the showers only on the ground floor. All in all for a short stay it didn't matter to much, but this is a simple stay and you get what you pay for.

The rooms are cramped. Feels like a prison cell by the 3rd night. Beds are very uncomfortable. Pillows are flat. But the hardest part was having to go up a floor to reach a toilet. Definitely not enjoyable in the middle of the night. Hotel staff was great. Location was excellent, near bus and train stops. Amazing price. But we struggled staying there for 5 nights.
