The Luminous hotel is similar to many other business hotels in Japan. But the Luminous' style, aesthetic, and cleanliness is superior. The staff were professional and helpful. My room was spotless and decently sized. The hotel isn't located in downtown Kobe Sannoniya, but the hotel's area itself has enough restaurants to keep you satisfied. This hotel is definitely worth a stay if you don't mind staying out of Sannoniya.

We stayed at the Kobe Luminous hotel May 18-20, 2018. It is an older modern and clean hotel, but the carpets in the elevators and our room should be replaced. I paid for a compact room but it had a sofa, a long window counter, and unexpected spaciousness. The wifi and beds were good. It is a 4 minute walk from the Hyogo subway station. A food market and a few restaurants are nearby. I can recommend this hotel.

The staff spoke enough english for us to be able to communicate with my very limited Japanese. The hotel look is a little dated but still very clean, washing machines however are in the parking lot on the side of the building.

The air-conditioner was set at the coldest setting (because it was not working well) and we were still much too warm the entire 2-days stay, in 2 separate rooms. The pillows are hard, with bead like stuffing; even hurts the ears. We had to use our bath towels instead.

1. I booked a smoking room by mistake so i requested the front desk to change it to a non-smoking room and will just pay the additional amount if any. He told me all rooms are fully booked. I showed him the app with a few non smoking rooms still available. He than told me to call Hotels.ca and talk to them not him. 2. I requested an additional pillow in the middle of the night and was simply told 'NO' I requested extra pillows the second night and thank Godness the clerk is a new guy and gave me my request!
