I had a wonderful stay at this hotel! The location was perfect—just a short walk to the market, which made exploring the area super convenient. The room was clean and comfortable, and I especially appreciated the nice bath, which was great for relaxing after a long day. The staff truly stood out—they were incredibly helpful and friendly throughout my stay. Overall, I was very pleased and would definitely stay here again!

The staff was outstanding - extremely helpful, gracious and friendly. They made excellent recommendations for delicious dining and were able to provide insights into the area that were quite useful in structuring our days in Kyoto. Would highly recommend!

Great location close to the action but far enough for welcomed respite at the end of the day. The walk from the street along the beautiful garden wall is always welcomed. My wife loved it and always commented when walking through. Room could be a little bigger but standard for Japan.

Wonderful location very close to transportation, shopping, many restaurants, but also on tucked on a quiet street. Direct trains to Osaka and convenient access to Nara, as well as buses to many attractions nearby,
Public bath is a nice add-on to relax after a day of sightseeing.
Staff is super-nice and helpful.
The room is on a small side but comfortable with all amenities. It has, however, virtually no storage. Just a few hangers, no shelves, no drawers.
Overall it's still very nice hotel given the location, convenience, and wonderful staff

A boutique and beautiful hotel in the central park of Kyotos downtown shopping district. We stayed 4 nights at the end of our Japan trip and it was a great ending to a 2 week vacation. The hotels lobby is beautiful and sleek, with the aroma of incense filling the air daily.
The front desk is friendly and speak good English.
The rooms are typical Japan city room size (think NYC hotels) and for a couple it’s fine. Friend, maybe get your own room lol. Only feedback is what I read on another review, the pillows could be better. Other than that the shower is great and you can stream cast your shows on the TV.
Can’t beat the location. Just off the train, walking distance to so many temples, shops, and restaurants. Would stay here again in a heartbeat.

We enjoyed this quality hotel near the famous Nishiki Market. The area around the hotel is safe and walkable. Comfortable beds and quiet room with great amenities. The breakfast buffet was delicious with both Western and traditional Japanese options. The staff were very helpful at check in and check out.

Great location in Kyoto, walking distance to shopping, food markets and both bus and train lines. Clean, comfortable rooms. Tight squeeze having three beds in one room for a family of three, but we made it work. The community bath was private, clean, tranquil and perfect after a days sightseeing. High recommend this hotel.

So well located. Walk to the markets Gion and every kind of transport.
So very clean.
Breakfast was minimal if not Japanese.
Service was exceptional.
Beds hard. Bathrooms small but extra sink in the room.
Cleanliness, staff and location are what make it a perfect place to stay. Could not have been happier.

The hotel was veey nice, the room was clean and they had a bath house that we could use which was very relaxing. Theyre very strict on the check in time so if you come early they will not let you have the room. So plan ahead if you have to change or anything when you get there to have a freshen up kit readily available.

The location is excellent for shopping and dining options. The rooms were small and there was no laundry facilities. The hotel lobby is very dark which makes it feel a little unwelcoming. I liked that you could get updates on the tv about how busy the onsen was, however the onsen was also very dark and didn't feel welcoming. Staff were polite but didn't seem particularly friendly or helpful. I think they are sick of foreign tourists which is unfortunate given they work in a hotel. Accommodation tax was added on when we checked in, but not mentioned when I booked online or in communications with the hotel prior to check-in. Nothing wrong with the place but I wouldn't stay again - a bit expensive and beds and pillows were very hard by western standards.

Stayed here for a week with my son. Room was spacious and comfortable. Location stellar: so much shopping, eating, transit options and sights in walking distance. Public bath lovely. Only downside is no laundry machines.
