Sakura Terrace

Room was great with a large bathroom; much bigger overall space compared to the chain hotels in Japan. Staff were wonderful. In-room massage was incredible—definitely recommend.

Decent sized rooms. Commute is easy. Definitely recommended.

Friendly staff. Welcome drink each night is definitely worth it. Great amenities and just a few steps away from the station makes it a great choice.

Overall great value for the money. Great location close to a subway station and a 19 minute walk from the train station. Lobby is fantastic like a bistro/bar. Every night music, welcome cocktails, massage machines are very welcomed.

Excellent hotel !

Very close to train station

Hotel offers excellent space for relaxing with books, travel information. Self-made dripping coffee or coffer pot is served after 10 am. One free drink for the guest. It also offer live music which we did not have time to enjoy. One suggestion is about room cleaning is not thorough. Nevertheless, we will come back if there is a trip to Kyoto. Location is excellent because it is next to a train station.

Good hotel

We liked the hotel- great location, nice spa and staff. The only downside was our room had a smokey smell which was quite off-putting. I was in a non-smoking room.

Hotel location is a 7-10min walk from Kyoto Station. But right in front of it is the Kujo Line access, which is very helpful because you can travel any where around Kyoto feom Kujo. Also, across from the hotel is a bus stop from which you can travel direcr to Gion and the various temples/shrines. Hotel is clean and has a public bath that we enjoyed. Also, all guests get a free daily welcome drink from the bar, including wine and alcoholic berverages.

I cannot overstate how wonderful Sakura Terrace is. All comments through the lens of a solo, young, female traveler. Customer service: highly accommodating. Last summer I was supposed to come stay, but got stuck in Tokyo while my baggage already made it to Kyoto- the staff, with the front desk at the hotel I was at in Tokyo, arranged to ship the luggage back to me, extremely helpful. English-speaking level varies among staff, but I had zero issues. The room: clean. The room I stayed in was particularly spacious compared to other places I’ve stayed at in Japan. Facilities: They have public baths open mornings and evenings. The female baths (all I can speak on) were clean, well-managed, and extremely relaxing after being on my feet all day. Warning: if you’re not used to it, the water is very hot, so look into it if it’s your first time. Amenities: in room amenities as standard. If you need a larger set of hotel clothes, you can just ask at the front desk. The complimentary drink, while nothing necessarily to write home about, is a very pleasant experience and they sometimes have live musicians playing. I did not look at their library area, nor did I partake in breakfast at the hotel, so I cannot comment on that. Location: easy access to Kyoto Station (~10 min walk), with a subway line directly accessible in front of the hotel. I had no issues with noise, even though my room faced the street. Safe area.

Enjoyed breakfast. Great variety. Excellent coffee

2 night tourist stay. Excellent location. Easy walk from Kyoto station. Bus stop to main temple/shrine area + Gion was across the street. Convenience max. Room nice with balcony. Breakfast buffet exceeded expectations. Really good. Free coffee, tea, water in lobby. Coffee was outstanding. Great value hotel. Weak link was the staff who could exude a little positive enthusiasm. They were indifferent at best.
