Beautiful and serene location with a great buffet. Tattoos kept me out of the onsen, so I can't speak to that. Nice little hikes around the hotel.

A truly amazing hotel at one of the most picturesque beaches in Japan. I seemed to be the only Westerner in the hotel and the staff very very helpful, kind and humorous. The room was massive and the view of the bay magnificent. I will return!

If you just want peace and quiet surrounded by nature, this is a good place to chill and relax. The staff were friendly and the facilities were very clean and well-maintained. Breakfast buffet which comes with my package featured a good selection of Japanese dishes, mostly seafood. If you are not keen on the hotel’s dining options, ask the staff to direct you to the Rest House by the beach which serves excellent ramen, which also sells snacks. There is also a shuttle to Miyako if you want more provisions. Lastly, there is a bus stop in front of the hotel. For those heading back to Morioka station, the express bus 106 to Morioka stops at the hotel entrance early in the morning. Ask the staff for more details.

Room and its wooded view was phenomenal! Futons comfortable and room immaculate. Public indoor and outdoor baths with spa treatments also relaxing and high quality. Breakfast was mixture of Japanese and Western dishes and excellent. Extremely pleased to have English-speaking staff that went above and beyond to meet our every need. 5 minute walk to the beach and glorious views from every corner. Will definitely be back. My fav spot to visit in Japan as of now.

Great position of the hotel to walk around the park. Good size room with a great view, but curtains do not block out the morning light (at 4:30am in Sumer), and no western beds. Good breakfast and a big buffet dinner - mostly Japanese style with some western dishes.

This is a unique place. Miyako is off the beaten path for most travelers but if your travels take you there, this is the only place to stay. The rooms have futons on the floor which are very comfortable. The view out the window is magnificent. The breakfast buffet is excellent and varied. There is a lovely public bath. Most extraordinary is the walk down to the beach, which is one of the most spectacular in the world.

The hotel was beautiful on its own, and was in a perfect spot to enjoy nature! The entire grounds were spotless, and on more than one occasion we saw workers sweeping even the road outside the hotel. The staff were quite friendly and helpful (even when we couldn't communicate easily because of language). Our room was a traditional Japanese-type, so there were futon beds placed directly on the tatami floor, and the bathroom is also Japanese style. If you're comfortable going nude, the communal open-air bath is very beautiful in the morning! Because it is in nature, I would suggest this as a relaxation spot, as it is a little far from the city and busy areas.

The hotel is beautiful. Overlooking the beach/Pacific Ocean. Picture of view from lobby. Limited English. No where to eat unless you have included the buffet in your booking. Need a car to get to small town. WiFi didn’t work in our room. Hotel had no solution for us. Note: these are Japanese style rooms. You sleep on the floor on mats & one inch futons. Much like camping with roof over your head! Trails to walk. Boat rides to see shoreline & blowhole if active. Arrange on your own. There are kayak trips available at the beach too. These were not advertised.
