The Royal Park Canvas Kyoto Nijo

The hotel is conveniently located directly across from a train station including JR rail lines making it very easy to venture out into Kyoto each day. And because it is a bit more centrally located, I never felt too far from any of the events I had pmanned or sightseeing I wanted to do. There are some great coffee shops and bakeries right near the hotel if you opt out of getting the breakfast package. An easy favorite being Lion Bakery less than a minute walk around the corner from the hotel. I did have a slight issue with the room feeling a bit worn down in some areas. There were scuff marks on the walls and the carpet was spotty and worn in places. It isn't a huge complaint because I booked the room knowing I was there to sightsee and the location was perfect for my activites. I didn't feel like the room was dirty or unclean either. The cleaning team was diligent with ensuring the room was very clean when requested. I think maybe just some basic upkeep and maintenance is needed. Overall, I would stay again because the location allowed me to see a lot of kyoto without excessive travel times.

We really liked this hotel for its location, cleanliness and lobby (it’s really nice that coffee and water are provided to guests 24/7). Very easy walking distance to many attractions and found local restaurants and cafes to be excellent.

Across the street from the train station, so super convenient for travelers and easy to head out on day trips. We explored all over Kyoto as first time visitors and, in hindsight, I'm really glad this is the area of the city we chose to stay in, as it avoided the more crowded areas overrun with a much larger number of tourists. The hotel was very nice, and the front desk staff were friendly and helpful during check-in. There were free drinks offered in the lobby. The rooms were a bit on the small side, but were still comfortable and the amenities very nice. We booked two rooms that ended up being on opposite ends of the same floor. For some reason, the room in the wing directly opposite the train station had an unusual odor that never dissipated during our 4 day stay. I found this a little offputting and was happy to be in the other room.

The Royal Park Canvas in Kyoto has excellent facilities and very friendly staff. The location is extremely convenient as local trains and buses can be caught on the same city block.

The hotel itself was beautiful and very clean. There were only a few washing machines in a communal area and they were being used 24/7. The breakfast was mediocre and staff wouldn’t bring anything to the room you had to go to the front desk to get it.

Confortable hotel with all you need. Quiet area just across the street from a subway station and bus stop. Fifteen minute walk to Nijo Castle and close convenience store and supermarket. Free coffee and tea all day long. I would stay again.

Great location across from Nijo station and a 711. Easy walking distance to Nijo castle. Minutes to Kyoto station. Room was great except it lacked storage space for suitcases. Laundry on site with laundry Chanel on the tv to watch when it’s available. Breakfast was good although same food served every day.

Nice hotel and good location. Only the breakfast was not great, especially at the price point.
