Really nice place! The staff were kind and informative. The area is wonderful too, there’s a big mall right around the corner and tons of shops and restaurants nearby!! The surrounding area was really popular with younger people, it seems. Our room was small but clean and had everything we needed. The downstairs lobby was very nice and cozy! The bathrooms are public and I didn’t shower so can’t speak to that, but it seemed clean and easily accessible. The staff were very kind and let us store our luggage in the lobby and sit down there long past our checkout time as we waited for our transportation to the next place. I definitely recommend this place, but probably not for more than a couple nights and not if you have a ton of luggage because our room was quite small!

The lovely ladies at the counter made my stay just perfect - they are so friendly, knowledgable, and helpful. This. place seems to attract a lot of friendly Western guests as well, so I was able to easily make friends in the large communal space. They also hold bags for no cost until 2200 on your day of check out. Location is in a more teenaged-geared area, however, so nearly all shops are closed by 2000, same with many restaurants. So, plan ahead, and you'll have a splendid time here in Nagoya (note: solo female traveler, stayed x4 nights)

Sleeping on the floor in a traditional style was interesting. Glad to have tried it. A bit to hard at my age, 61, but the younger 20 something’s seemed to be fine. Many of the eating establishments were very similar to each other. A little more variety would be nice.

Very happy with this hostel. It's a lovely looking space with a nice, open common area you can use all hours. Definitely going to see if they have accommodations anywhere else in Japan! Cleanliness: 5/5 Comfort: 4/5 -blanket was a bit too short for a 6'2" fellow Hospitality: 4/5 - staff was very friendly and helpful and I'm only giving a 4 because I've had even better interactions with staff at other hostels. Definitely no complaints The dorms have electronic locks so you can feel more secure about leaving your stuff there. The bed safe is a pretty respectable size and I was able to fit my 12" chromebook in there without issue. You've got to make your own bed but having a bed sheet and wrap for the blanket makes it easier to keep clean. The shower rooms were spacious and had hangars and a bin to store your stuff as you showered. They had good ventilation and you could easily adjust the position and water pressure. Free coffee and tea are provided and while neither is incredible it's a nice bonus that makes the place feel more welcoming hand Having a laundry room as a bonus.

Very small rooms so not so good for a family stay and definitely not optimal for claustrophobics. The place is very clean tho, so we give points for that. Location is OK, plenty of restaurants and supermarkets around. We booked a private room with 4 beds and it was very small with low roofs and a small window overlooking the wall of the next building. Room looks more spacious in the ones shown in Hotels.com. You barely have space to keep your suitcase inside or open it. It was the smallest room we stayed in during our 15-day trip thru Japan. Good for a one-night stay or for single travellers passing by but not more. Bathrooms and showers are shared. To be taken into account that towels need to be rented but shampoo, conditioner and shower gel are provided.
