Washington R&B Hotel Kyoto Shijo Kawaramachi

This hotel was not really a great hotel for tourists. No knowledge of tourist attractions, but very friendly and it was very clean.

Location is great. Made traveling around Kyoto and to nearby cities for a day trip very convenient.

The breakfast is grade. The room is really comfortable and clean. And the location is excellent for the geisha district and lots of cute little places right around the hotel.

Close to shopping restaurants and public transport.

Wicked good.

Kyoto has like a 200yen a night fee so beware. This hotel though is great. Staff was very professional and it was a nice distance from gion. No complaints

Located on Kawaramachi-dori, it is on walking distance from Kawaramachi-eki where most of the buses destined to sightseeing locations depart from. Also within a stone's throw from the Gion district. Good for evening dining and barhopping.

The hotel itself was excellent , giving all the amenity's and cleanliness that were needed and more. The staff were very service minded and very friendly. The location was the winner with it being less than a hundred meters from the riverbank and alongside the little Street that runs the whole way through full of lovely little restaurants

This little property is quite the surprise. The rooms are not huge. But that’s Japan. Everything is smaller scale. Don’t expect western standards. Unless you want to pay ten times as much. The front desk staff gives everything they have to work with your language. They even go so far as having little handheld translator device. There is no ice machine unfortunately. But that’s not unusual in Japan. It’s still a very new property. Everything is well-maintained and clean. R & B provides a great FREE breakfast every morning. It’s a great filling meal with a couple of kinds of juice: orange and a carrot/vegetable. There are several different kinds of rolls. Boiled eggs. Very tasty and well presented. Also, they have some soup. The bathroom is nice and clean and new. It’s more than big enough for one person. It has a really convenient soap and shampoo dispenser along with a hand soap bottle at the sink. The room has a nice bed and a good television. The refrigerator is small. Again, this is Japan not the United States! You don’t need a lot of real estate. The Wi-Fi is excellent. No issues whatsoever. Just to the east of the hotel is a beautiful little lane. It’s essentially what one would think all of Japan stereo typically would look like. There’s a nice little creek with flowers and blossoms. Absolutely stunningly beautiful.

great location and atmosphere

This is a very nice hotel. Only three weeks old and has that new smell. Great staff, clean rooms, nice bed, windows that open, nice music that plays on the TV when you put your key into activation mode. Close to bus stops, shopping, the Nishiki Market and some great little hideaway restaurants in behind the hotel on the promenade.

room is too small and desk area is not good enough space for me.

Pros: Excellent newly opened hotel. Good location for restaurants, shopping and not too far from bus and subway station. Cons: Breakfast needs more variety.
