Hotel Posada La Basilica

The service overall was great, we stayed in the front part of the hotel we liked the view, shopping was walking distance, the hotel is beautiful, colonial style but with very modern amenities, the restaurant staff was very friendly, the food was great, overall our experience was great, will definitely come back and let friends and family know

It is a beautiful place with a nice patio and a great View, located across the street from the Basílica de Nuestra Señora de la Salud.

The rooms were not as shown in the pictures. The worst part was the restroom. Even though we purchased the best suite, it was a disappointment once inside: the toilet didn’t flush, terrible shower, and everything was in bad conditions. The bed was very clean and smelled nice but that was the only positive thing.

El hotel tiene un pésimo servicio al cliente. Para tratar tu queja en vez de llamarle al gerente le llaman a la patrulla. Literal llegó la policía a ver nuestro caso. No hay un gerente que resuelva y de la cara ante el hotel. Pésima experiencia: 1) la reservación fue realizada por medio de Expedia y no correspondía el cuarto que nos dieron con repecto a las fotos de la habitación que publicaron en el sitio de Expedia. Era en un casi sótano, sin ventilación y con olor a humedad muy fuerte, todo encerrado 2) la persona en recepción, con una pésima actitud, al comentarle el asunto nos contestó que teníamos lo que habíamos reservado en la página de expidia. Solicitamos cambio de habitación y dijo que teníamos que pagar 800 pesos más. 3) el recepcionista llamo a la patrulla para resolver nuestro problema pues su gerente nunca apareció. 4) los policías llegaron al hotel y nos dieron la razón a nosotros como huéspedes. 5) el hotel jamás accedió a darnos nuestro reembolso apesar de que la autoridad le dijo que lo hiciera. El recepcionista dijo que el no tenía autorización para dar el reembolso. Pésimo lugar .. jamás reserven en este hotel.

Very clean and easy to walk around.

The hotel is located right on the corner across from the basilica and plaza. The plaza is filled with great street food vendors. We stayed in the suite (room 16), which had a king-sized bed, siting area, wood fireplace, full bathroom downstairs, and loft accessible by a spiral staircase. The loft had a bathtub with large window with a great view. Be patient with the hot water. It will eventually go from warm to really hot! We never ran out of hot water, even when using the tub. There was also a couch and small office area in the loft. The staff was friendly and were able to help with advice, taxis, etc. We did eat in the restaurant. The food was decent. The star fruit salsa was amazing. The best part of the restaurant was the view! When we return to Pátzcuaro we will definitely stay at Hotel Posada La Basilica again!

Nuestra experiencia en el hotel fue mala pague una tarifa y la habitación era horrible, tuve que pagar el doble de lo que ya había pagado para que me dieran una habitación mejor.

Beautiful building and room very near everything. Terraza and on site restaurant are big pluses. Restaurant has great views of the city and lake, and the coffee and food are excellent. I used the room for remote work for a few days and had zero issues with Wi-Fi, even for video conferencing.

I like the authenticity about the hotel, in keeping with the surrounding culture. I did not like that there was no parking left available in their parking structure, we had to park outside.

The front desk didn’t have our two rooms because they overbooked. One room was exactly like the photos online. Beautiful and comfortable, clean, spacious, with windows, curtains, a beautiful armoire, coffee maker, etc. The other was literally a dungeon in a basement with a lock on the front door and a toilet with no door located right next to the front door (as photos show). When we complained since the two rooms cost the same, the staff became confrontational and wanted us to pay double in order to move us to a similar room than the original reservation showed. They blamed hotels.com arguing they are the ones who assign the rooms. By then we were just laughing. Very unprofessional.
