The staff here was truly lovely. I booked the room on the main floor, but they offered me the rooftop suite for no additional charge since it happened to be available for the 2 nights I stayed there. They leave coffee and tea outside your door every morning so that you can drink it in bed. The complementary breakfast is huge and more than enough to last you through lunch time. They were also extremely helpful in planning my activities for the next day.

This is such a special place and truly feels like an oasis in the Fez medina, beautiful with lovely and attentive staff, free of the sometimes predatory vibe that folks have with tourists in Fez. We had a wonderful time, the food was excellent, and the coffee before waking at your door was such a perfect touch. Would definitely stay again.

Beautiful hotel that feels like you're staying in a friend's home. The staff is very helpful and attentive, Omar being so pleasant to talk to and gave us tips on where to go and arranged drivers for us to and from the airport. The restaurant "ruined garden" is super popular with people not even staying at the riad, but we were always able to get a table. Food is excellent, breakfast especially, ambiance amazing and private. Restuarant is in the front garden on the way into the hotel. About a 5 minute walk to the main souks. Would definitely stay again.

Location was not as expected. Yes within the medina, but going out of the hotel without a local guy is not an option, you might get lost. I knew it was an old facilitu, but expected a much better renovation of the hotel. Rooms are too dark, and the smell of the lobby should get improved, it smelled like horse. Have to say that staff was very gentle and kind, just because of that I might give it another try.

The staff at the Idrissy were wonderful. They made being in a foreign country so easy. They arranged an intelligent guide for us. They made transport for our travel connections a breeze. Their adjoining restaurant The Ruined Garden was fabulous, and they served the best breakfast! Be sure to try all their homemade breads. The room was beautiful, the only drawback being the flight of stairs to get there. My husband has a bad knee and it was a bit tough on him. I believe they have one ground floor bedroom. We personally struggled a bit with the Médina itself, it smelled like a cat litter box, but a great overall experience.

We, a retired couple, stayed at this hotel for 3 nights in September. The hotel, located in the middle of the Medina’s pedestrian zone, sent a porter to meet us and take our bags in a cart, and to lead us through the maze of tiny streets. The entrance is through the Riad’s popular restaurant, The Ruined Garden. The Riad itself is a 450 year-old home with original tiles, woodwork, plasterwork and authentic period furniture. Although up a flight of narrow, uneven stairs, our lovely room was a large one overlooking the interior courtyard. It had pretty hand-painted ceilings and shutters and antique furnishings. The bed was comfortable and the AC worked well. The bathroom was a bit dark and small, but perfectly functional. Staff was cheerful, helpful, provided good orientation and recommendations, including arranging for a good car and driver for our onward transportation to Chefchaouen. We enjoyed the basket of tea and coffee that was dropped at our doorway each morning, which got us started and which we later carried down to the restaurant for a very full breakfast. We ate in the Riad two nights and had pleasant well-served meals on the upper terrace of the Riad and in the main floor lounge (The Riad is licensed for beer and wine, but the restaurant is not). Although there were a few quirky elements, overall we really enjoyed the ambience and the extremely friendly and accommodating feel.

Very lovely riad, and perfect for our 2 night stay in Fes. Restaurant at the riad has great food and we loved our room. Location is perfect for exploring the medina, but back just enough to escape and unwind from the main street with all the shops. Would def stay here again.

Great stay at Riad Idrissy. Went with a friend. We loved our room. Great air conditioning. Funky/hippy vibe and stylish. The people and service were excellent. They have this intense fresh lemon with soda water drink and sprig of mint that I will remember always. So refreshing in the hot weather. I loved the restaurant. All around a great place to stay right in the middle of the riad with a staff who is kind and attentive.

Great stay at the Riad Idrissy, Staff are amazingly friendly and attentive and the Riad is beautiful. Staff graciously organized transfers to and from train station and airport, a day trip out of Fez, a bread making course in the Ruined Garden, and many delicious meals in the adjoining Ruined Garden!! Our rooms (we had two different during our stay) were beautiful, nicely appointed, had comfortable big beds and were quiet! Ensuite shower and toilet had plenty of hot water. If you have the option select the larger of rooms as the extra space makes for a very comfortable, enjoyable stay. Fabulous breakfasts were cooked fresh to order each day including hot select of oven fresh Moroccan breads. Coordinating our stay was easy through Fatima and Robert and Autmann (sp not certain - apologies) could not have done more to make our stay in Fez Median any better. Great value for money and absolutely excellent customer care! Highly recommended.

Public areas sumptuously decorated, bedrooms also memorable if less over the top. Beds very good, bedrooms large but baths tiny with very low lighting, rain shower pleasant but confining, no stool or seat to wash feet in close quarters. Staff all very attentive and with good to fair English. Breakfast of yoghurt, orange juice (fresh, little pulp), thick honey, almonds, raisins, etc. a variety of fresh Moroccan breads and " pancakes, is very good and filling. Traditional British and American breakfasts (eggs, etc. said to be on offer). Parking {we had a car) was at a small underground car park on the edge of the medina. We were met by the the riad' friendly and fit (olde) porter with luggage cart and in about 15 minutes were at the riad in its maknificent lobby/courtyard (covered) and central axis of ventilation when bedroom window shutters are ajar). The ajoining courtyard restaurant, where breakfast is taken, is a series of open areas divided by low, rugged brick walls, and lots of wild looking plants and flowers (a pillar of morning glory and a large, white bouganvilla add color to the otherwise jungle-like ambiece. The restaurant, The Ruined Garden, is advertised with mosaic tiles discreetly positioned at several nearby corners to help guide guests back to the riad. The restaurant is highly rated and makes a nice, convenient refuge after a day of tracking through the myriad alleyways. Is food is very good but for my taste not outstanding, by the cuisine.

This Riad is awesome - great service, great rooms, great food! Breakfast every day was great, they have fresh fruit, make fresh bread when you sit down, delicious yogurt, eggs upon request (all included). We had dinner the last night before leaving and it was the best lamb I've had in a very long time. You can't go wrong with this Riad!

Merveilleux souvenir.

The Riad is amazing! The courtyard and longue are very beautiful and spacious. The room is well decorated and clean. And the staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel also runs a restaurant called Ruined Garden, and the food is not bad too. The only problem was the wifi connection in our ground floor room was very poor and there is no mobile data connection inside the room so we couldn't use the internet.
