Convenient location

Great stay. Always a delight. Quality fittings and amenities. Comfy bed. Quiet room. I was looking forward to the spa, but it was out of service. Next time.

Fantastic stay. From the very warm and bubbly welcome from the young lady on the front desk to the young man who checked me out at the end of out stay.

Great location

The tile floor in the bathroom is a safety hazard when wet. The shower leaks onto the other part of the bathroom floor.

I really liked the central location and the staff were helpful and friendly. The hotel felt quite dated and worn around the edges, and my room smelt very strange although I was very appreciative of the upgrade and space that I had. There were some good amenities including a sauna, but I didn't manage to take advantage of this.

Quiet sleep in such a convenient location. I was surprised how quiet the room was overnight especially considering the central city location. Fable did not disappoint. We like the mgallery options in other cities we’ve stayed in too for their convenient locations often in interesting historical buildings, Fable is so close to commercial bay, britomart lane way dining options and much more.

The Fable is a beautiful hotel at an excellent location. I love the decor although our room was very small; there wasn’t much room to move around. It’s close to shopping, dining and the ferry terminal. Outside the hotel is a bit of a letdown as there’s a few homeless people camped on the footpath. Our room was always thoroughly and quickly serviced in the morning while we’re at breakfast. Service was very good overall although staff at the Cooke’s restaurant at times seemed unsure of what they’re doing.

Would be 5 star apart from getting a room without a window, but for one night it didn’t matter.

Friendly staff and clean room

The staff was wonderful. They were very friendly and helped us in any way they could.

Disappointing given such excellent reviews. Junior suite had an over furnished living room and very poor storage (no drawers for socks and jocks etc) Shower waste overflowed and had to keep lifting the grate tile, but water pressure was excellent . Spa was out of order for the entire stay. Room a bit tired. Staff did their job. Positives were location and quietness of our room.

Great location, helpful staff and walking distance to waterfront and shops. As a return customer, I will be back!

Standards have slipped at The Fable who, by the way, are still advertising 24-hour room service which actually ends before 9 pm (who knows what happened to their overnight menu; we were lucky to get the restaurant's leftover desserts). Excited by an upgrade to the junior suite, we were disappointed enough by worn upholstery, grubby shower, suspect aircon, & broken bathroom extractor fan to request a downgrade. Luxury king was a much nicer experience but, again, the cleaning team had been neglecting shower floor and corners for some time, ugh. The jacuzzi was broken, with edging peeling away from the seats. Some creative soul had stashed multiple lifted tiles decoratively in a corner. Be prepared to try reception two or three times to get an answer :( Hopefully this is unique to Auckland and other Fable properties remain a unique & glamorous treat.

Beautiful, clean, and comfortable hotel. Everything was great!

One night stopover before a lunchtime flight. Room was fine with a nice shower. Enjoyed breakfast and staff were friendly.

I’d say it’s nice for a holiday, not sure it’s a business hotel.

We didn’t really enjoy our stay. The facilities were nice, however, we found our room had an awful smell, along with being able to hear the music from the night clubs down stairs on the Friday and Saturday night til 2am. The upside was it was close to walk to everything (spark arena, viaduct, restaurants, ect).
