The hotel was very nice. My room was beautiful and very comfortable. I wished the laundry room was in our building. And I wished there was more variety of restaurants.

We had a good stay at Thon Hotel Europa. The location is very good. The breakfast was perhaps not as good as some other similar hotels in Oslo I have stayed at and the choice of TV channels somewhat limited, but on the whole the hotel served our needs and the staff was very friendly.

When I booked this hotel, I didn't realize that the neighborhood was absolutely perfect for our Oslo trip. It's right near two tram lines and is also very walkable to Sentrum, the Royal Palace, and the top of Karl Johans Gate. The Nationaltheatret train station is very close as well (the Vy train goes straight from Oslo airport to this station and then just a few blocks to the Europa). The room was beautiful with a comfy bed and remodeled bathroom. The rooms (and the lobby) have Nespresso machines and that is a nice touch. The breakfast is delicious and SO plentiful. We were overall just so happy with everything.

A nice hotel no surprises

Fantastic hotel and location! I enjoyed the stay however I must note that the hotel room did not have air conditioning which is common in Europe but uncommon in the US so it was a bit of adjustment.

Breakfast was exceptional.

A nice hotel including spacious room, great location, good pricing and absolutely the best included breakfast spread of any hotel we have stayed at in 50 years! But oh the downside! The west facing room was unbearably hot. No A/C. For 2 nights in a row, the room only got down to 26 degrees overnight. We hardly slept. Made worse by the loud rumbling trams coming right under our open window every 2 mins until 1.30am!! Bathroom on the small side as well. It was not a sensible choice for mid summer!

The hotel was conveniently located, close to the Royal Palace, the History Museum and only 15 minutes walk from the main waterside area. The room was fine and well equipped, but the highlight was definitely the Breakfast buffet, smoked salmon and scrambled egg was the highlight.

Nice place. Affordable. The fans were a godsend as the rooms were very hot.

We loved Thon Hotel Europa! And we would have given it 5 stars - the hotel location, room, etc were great. The free breakfast was delightful as was most of the staff. But not Anwar, or as we refer to him forever more, as the “food police.” On our way out of breakfast I took two slices of already buttered bread that I could not finish, in a napkin, for later. We were walking out of the dining room when Anwar stopped me, not even asking what was in the napkin, and proceeded to tell me that I cannot take food out. It must all be eaten in the dining room. I asked him why and he said that “it costs the hotel money” as he forced me to leave the bread on the counter and would not let us pass until I did. He was always milling about the exit and we finally understood why. We stayed for 4 nights, 2 of which were spent traveling to the fjords, not partaking in Anwar’s “costly" breakfast but did not ask for or receive refunds for the breakfast that we did not eat or the room that we did not stay in - even though that costed us, the customers, money. The lovely front desk agent, Belinda, tried to reason with him on my behalf but he refused to budge. Belinda indicated that upper management would get back to me but they never did. Nor did they respond to any messages after the fact. This is not about the bread, but rather the petty, classless, behavior of one employee that this hotel hired and the failure of anyone at Thon Hotels to apologize for this incomprehensible behavior.

The hotel is OK. It doesn’t have the best room in the world, no ac or bathroom fan. However the breakfast is good, that is the only good point I can find…

Great location. Tram stop outside hotel making it easy to get to and from Central station. Hotel snd staff were great. Loys of options at breakfast and tasted great.

Excellent breakfast, expensive drinks at the bar!

Room was at a good price for the location. We were on the eighth floor and our room got quite warm. There was a fan but no air conditioning.

Great hotel close to everything! Right by the National Theater train stop so easy access to and from the airport. Hotel is clean and the breakfast was amazing!
