Baluarte da Vila Apartments

Great location, close to lots of great restaurants. Apartment was outdated, especially the bathroom. Very uncomfortable beds. There's an extra charge for pool towels which is a bit odd. Beautiful pool.

The apartment was much larger than I expected (it’s two floors) and was clean and well kept. The building is in a very quiet part of town on top of a hill (be prepared to have sore calves), and the pool is beautiful with views of the ocean. The biggest downside was the receptionist is barely at there so you need to be self sufficient your entire stay.

The accomodation was in a great location, near some of the best beaches in Lagos, and a short walk from the town centre. The rooms were fairly clean and well sized and the pool area was nice. Despite this, there are a number of property's in the vicinity that are significantly better value for money as this accommodation was expensive.

We had an amazing stay at this property. We arrived by train from Lisbon and took an Uber to our hotel which is very affordable, about 5 euro. Our one bedroom duplex was spacious and clean. The staff is very nice and helpful. The hotel is very central, about a 10 minute walk to the old, historic part of town with lots of restaurants, shops. There is a grocery store nearby as well. The trail along the beaches is also about a 10 minute walk. There are lots of amazing beaches to discover in the area. I would stay at this property again.

Jessica at the front desk was amazingly helpful and super friendly. The room was cozy and well finished and the area quiet but walking distance from everything.

Easy check in, very helpful front desk and fantastic property. Kitchen had all the basics and small fridge. Living space was perfect as was bedroom and bath. Easy walking to restaurants and parking in the area.

I did not like the low beds and there are no safety bars in the shower.

Beautiful, spacious, and ideally located. We felt as if we were staying in a five-star resort. An extraordinary value, at least in April when we were there. We simply could not have been more pleased.

Hotel is high up on the hill, a 5 minute walk up from the town. Although it was hard to get into on first arrival, just as we arrived at 11am someone was leaving so let us in. There was someone on the desk and although we were not due to book in from 3pm they had one of the two rooms ready and we were able to leave our bags etc. The hotel is lovely, although there is no bar or restaurant. The pool has plenty of sunbeds and room to sunbathe. Our two 1 bedroom apt, were both spacious and had everything we needed from toaster, microwave, hairdryer. Great hotel, very quiet, very reasonably priced. Loved it.

Great location, right in the old town near the beach. Very quiet with a pool, clean and good service. Would definitely stay here again!

We stayed here for 2 nights and it was beautiful. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. The apartment was clean and huge! There is a beautiful pool and the apartments are close to everything. 5 minute walk to the beach!

Loved this place!! Well exceeded our expectations. We had a one bedroom which had a sitting room/kitchen and toilet on ground floor. First floor had a twin bedroom which was quite large as well as a full bathroom. Up the stairs to the second floor - was a private roof deck with beautiful views! Pool was very nice too. Not too windy which was great. Will absolutely stay here again.

We revisited Porta Da Vila this October for a 9 night stay and can see how much it has improved since our last visit 18 months ago. Cleanliness is now far better with a cleaner who called 6 days a week and the towels and linen were also changed regularly this time. We had one of the Garden rooms (107) which is relatively quiet and has a roof terrace with excellent views across the town and Meia Praia beach. There are no views from the ground floor lounge or bedroom - but the roof terrace compensates for this. Like another reviewer we had a problem with noise on Friday and Saturday nights when some young Portuguese residents returned at 4.00am with a huge amount of shouting and laughing which resulted in no sleep until they finally all got into their apartments and presumably went to sleep. Happily they only stayed for the weekend. Things to bear in mind: kitchenette facilities are basic with two rings only and very cramped. OK for a snack but not too much more. TV - a few English channels, but nowhere near as many as privately rented apartments which usually have the full range of Sky channels. Lounge has just one settee and a dining table and chairs, so you either all sit on the sofa or on an uncomfortable wooden dining chair. Just one additional lounge chair would make a lot of difference. Reception is usually unmanned although the receptionist can be contacted on her mobile if you need her and she speaks excellent English. For us the best thing is the location at the top of town within the city walls. Value wise, it is not as good as some of the apartments we've rented privately in the marina area for the same sort of cost which we've found are generally far better equipped. But on the plus side you are only 5 minutes walk from the city centre with the Porta Da Vila apartments.

Appartement très propre et bien équipé. Très bon suivi et très bons services du début à la fin des sympathiques propriétaires Conceicao et Benoit qui parlent tous les 2 français. Allez-y en confiance. Cependant sachez qu'il y a beaucoup de marches à monter vers l'appartement qui est au 4 ème étage et pas d'ascenseur. Pour nous ça n'a pas été un problème. Vous êtes aussi dans un quartier typique Lisbonnais Bairro Alto.

La situation de l'hotel est exceptionnelle. Sur les hauteurs de Lagos avec une vue imprenable sur l'Ocean deja depuis la rue. Le quartier est local et typique mais on rejoint le centre ville pavé avec tous les commerced en 5mn à pieds. Quant à Jessica elle est parfaite ! Elle nous a arrangé une sortie en mer exactement comme nous la voulions nous permettant ainisi de ne pas aller prospecter tous les stands ! Elle est toujours souriante et avenante ! L'appartement etait parfaitement équipé et d'un grand confort ! Si nous retournons a Lagos, c'est là que nous séjournerons a nouveau !

Eine gute Unterkunft in optimaler Lage. Hätten nicht anders wohnen wollen. Die Nähe zur Lagune und Altstadt mit Aussicht über die Bucht war optimal. Die Apartments sind zwar etwas in die Jahre gekommen, aber absolut sauber und schön.
