I was pleasantly surprised about how big the apartment was. But there was construction in the morning, so I couldn’t sleep in. And worst of all, the apartment ventilation was poor. As soon as I walked in, I could smell the humidity in the apartment and I got a bad cough, likely due to the humidity and mold in the walls which caused a small allergic reaction. To be clear, I could not see any mold, but I am allergic to all types of mold and dry dustmites and I started developing a bad cough. After my stay, I remained in Porto for about another 5 more days, stayed at a different apartment and my cough slowly went away. I hope they can figure out the ventilation, because it was other wise a nice place to be.

When arrived a thought the place looked lovely but on closer inspection there were many flaws. The first being the overwhelming smell of damp. The furniture and kitchen items were extremely cheap and flimsy. The bed took up the whole room so it was hard to move around. It was definitely a style over substance/practicality type room. Noisy neighbours in the apartment above having a party on the weekend and a barking dog.

Hosts were accommodating and had good communication. The place is comfortable, neat and clean. The immediate area is quiet but felt safe to me (m, 40). It´s only 10 minute walk to great dining areas (non-touristy) and maybe a few minutes more walk to tourist district. I recommend this accommodation.

On the positive side, the property's location is great. Nestled in a quieter part of Porto, it provided a serene atmosphere perfect for those looking to escape the hustle and bustle of the city center. However, FIND SOMEWHERE ELSE TO STAY IN THE AREA. The property itself was in need of significant attention. The pictures shown do not reflect the state of the accommodation. The most glaring issue was the state of the furniture. The sofa in the living room was so worn that it was almost unusable. Half of the sofa was so saggy and uncomfortable that sitting on it was a challenge. This seriously impacted our ability to relax and enjoy the space. The chairs wobbled precariously, and it felt like they were on the brink of collapsing at any moment. They were held together by tiny, visible nails, which only added to the feeling of discomfort and insecurity while sitting on them and they were completely inadequate for remote work. The major drawback was the air conditioning unit. While it's wonderful to have air conditioning in hot weather, the compressor was incredibly loud. It emitted a constant, disruptive noise that made it impossible to get any sleep. Bottom line - we booked for three nights but left after one night. Don't stay here if you want to relax and sleep. The property owner was unresponsive until after I left. The reviews are good on some of the other units, I suppose, which brings up the rating of this property. It's unfortunate I can't upload audio. BEWARE!

Loud traffic noise, day and night. I booked 16 days because I was studying Portuguese in Porto. I arrived during the day, and with all the windows shut the traffic noise was very loud. I called the landlord, they said I could move to an interior facing apartment for 10 days, but I'd have to stay in the street facing apartment for 6 days. I decided to try, but after one bad noisy night I booked the remaining 5 nights in another location. The 10 days in the interior facing apartment were fine, but the street facing apartment should not be offered on Expedia, the noise level is not acceptable. If you decide you want to stay here make sure to get the landlord's commitment that you will get an interior facing apartment before you make the booking.

Really easy transfer from the airport - hop on the direct metro to Campo 24 de Agosto and it’s just a 2/3 min walk from there. Easy to walk to the Historic Centre from the apartment, takes around 15 min. You can walk to most places of interest in Porto but wear comfy shoes as it is hilly! For further away areas, you can catch a bus close to the apartment or use the metro. I did this for Foz do Douro / Serralves (207 bus) and Casa da Música (metro). The apartment was clean, nicely decorated and had all amenities. Check-in was straightforward and Ana was communicative and easily contactable.
