My partner and I stayed in one of the newer garden front rooms for 5 nights and enjoyed every minute. The hospitality was wonderful, the rooms were quiet and quite spacious. It rained most days so an umbrella was put outside our door for our walk to breakfast. The bathroom was clean with beautiful shower pressure. We enjoyed a good breakfast every morning with nice variety of hot and cold. I didn’t really like the coffee machine but was able to pick a coffee to suit my taste. The accommodation was not too far from the city centre and we walked it each day. Turn left for 2 minute walk fruit and veges and laundromat(7€ for wash and dry). Turn right for city centre and all sites. We loved our stay here and very happy for our stay.

A charming and interesting hotel in a quiet part of Porto. The main center is a quick walk and the hotel is really beautiful. You should stay there just for the architecture alone. Our room was very large and the staff were super helpful with suggestion of places to go to and pointed out everything on a map. Definitely would stay here again should I be lucky enough to return to Porto.

Never have I ever stayed in a castle before. Very unique room in the castle tower. Period details galore but also with modern finishes. Hosts were very nice and any communication with them was fast and courteous. Would have loved to have a small fridge in room but...I will say the bed was a bit too hard for my liking and pillows not firm enough. Clean, clean and clean. Just a short walk to the main part of city

Stayed at the top floor room with a fantastic view. Very much worthy of staying; nice breakfast room ; breakfast itself was standart and tasty. Close to metro Marques station ; you are in the centre in 10mins inc walking to the metro.

We stayed at this venue for 4 days and enjoyed everything about it. The main castle building was beautiful, with it's antique furniture and decor. The grounds were also beautiful. We highly recommend this hotel. It is a family owned business and the owners make every effort to please their guests

My stay there was good and comfortable overall. However, there are some weak points. They charged us for the bottled water last night we got at the front. They should have told us it's going to be charged later first. And there were no vegetables except tomato in the European buffet. Very disappointed. Room is very small but toilet is big enough. Anyway nice stay!

Our favorite place to stay in Porto. The parking is convenient. The rooms are very roomy and clean. GREAT beds. Very nice breakfast. This is the 8th time we’ve stayed there with friends.

We had one of the modern rooms so didn’t feel the “castle” feeling in our room. The grounds and breakfast room were very beautiful though. Ours was a plain room, but overall comfortable, with heating, and pretty spacious for 3 of us. we had a few ants in the bathroom and on the beds though since our arrival. Also please be advised the parking lot is so narrow, it’s a one way entrance but somehow they want you to make a u-turn and park facing downhill . The first night we arrived I was more than 15 minutes trying to do this maneuver in the tiny space. Thank Gd the owner of the vehicle I was narrowly avoiding hitting with my car came just at the right moment to move his car forward a few inches so I could finally finish the turn and park - he was sooo helpful. The hotel staff was not helpful in this difficult situation even though they could see on camera how tough of a time I was having.
Also please be advised that even though we paid some taxes upon check in, the last day we paid even more taxes. That was confusing. Breakfast is fine but not amazing like other reviews state - the croissants in particular are inedible , and pancakes and waffles were hard. You also had to tell them ahead of time in which 30 minute time slot you would eat, between 8am-10am. It’s hard to predict at the time of checkin when you’ll eat every day you are there. We had a much more delicious and varied breakfast (and more easily available from 4am onwards!) at the Melia airport hotel in Lisbon.
