Hotel Rural Quinta da Geia

No kettle or coffee maker in the room is a deal killer for me. "Missed it by that much" Get Smart. Two very uncomfortable wicker chairs in the room. We were told breakfast was 8 AM but turns out it was 8:30 AM. Perhaps lost in translation. Breakfast was all laid out at 8 but we were not allowed to have it. Bed was OK. It would have been nice to have coffee in the lobby in the morning so that you can sit in the large number of comfortable places and enjoy a quiet morning. Especially with the room with the roaring fire. We wanted to know if we could order wine and sit in one of the lovely rooms but it must have gotten lost in translation. Not sure why many of these places don't have a FAQ in various languages explaining all this. We were there on Valentines day so there was a preset menu. It was good.

Beautiful property for a tranquil rural stay.

The actual hotel is stunning. Built like a castle, warm, comfortable and beautiful. However, there is literally nothing to do around it except several fairly difficult hikes. No wifi, small little pool. It would be a romantic place to unplug and unwind, but for kids or as a base to explore, no.

Quiet location, slept with the window open during the rain. Food was great. Clean and comfy too.

Very unique property if your looking for that certain quality. Beautiful surroundings and even more amazing biking roads. Restaurant very good and does the best Portuguese tarts all.

The beautiful views and good food

We come here often, it's one of our favorite getaway hotels. It has a great pool and garden, it benefits from a fantastic view and is close to nice natural river pools and walking trails. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The breakfast is good, Lunch and dinner are served on a beautiful outdoor terrace, but regrettably the food could be better, especially for the price, and there are no good restaurant options close by.

We LOVED this charming property especially the kids section of the amazing pool!!!!!

Thank you for your hospitality! Even in these trial times we were welcome with the greatest smiles and the best table, by the fire, to eat our meals.

Beautiful place

Rooms as well as common places are very cozy and creates a very warm atmosphere. The bedding is of very good quality. On the negative side, the SPA usage is not included in the price and would have make the overall cost more expansive than any other hotels we visited. That should be more clearly indicated on hotels.com

My only complaint is the lack of acoustic isolation on the bedrooms. Everything else was great, especially the staff’s sympathy.

The staff was excellent, the hotel quaint and lovely. The veiws are amazing. Great place to stay in Serra Da Estrela.
