Great place well located

We had two rooms, weekday, for 3 nights, we arrived at 11:30AM and before even greeting us the agent told us checkin wasn’t until 4PM but for a fee she could check us in early. Clearly they had rooms for us, but that’s ok we understand; but her way of approaching us wasn’t nice and the only hotel from a long trip around Portugal that did this to us. We stored out bags and moved on. Later, after we checked in they called us from the front desk asking for payment because they forgot, so we went back to pay. I asked about some wineries recommendations or tours and they told me (3 agents were there) they didn’t have any information. The room was horrible. Mattress was thin about 4 fingers thick on top of a mattress box spring , very uncomfortable. Our room smelt like cigarettes and the window didn’t close well so during the day we had the smell from food cooked in the restaurant below since their vent was just outside of our window. The room was old and not well maintained full of patches on the wall and stains on the carpet. The soap was of poor quality and towels old falling apart. This hotel is not even a 2 star, I’d not recommend it, they are worried about making money with early check ins but don’t care about their rooms or training employees to be caring towards their guests.

The only fault I have with the hotel was the prices in the bar far too expensive so we went to eat and drink at another bar

Comfortable bed and bedding. Lots of room for all my toiletries in the bathroom was a plus. Very nice, helpful staff! We couldn't get an uber, or taxi for my train and one of the front desk staff drove us to the station!

The Stay hotel in Guimaraes was perfect. It was close to the City center, and also close to restaurants and walking distance to most touristic spots, like the Castle and the Palace of the Duke of Braganza. Well worthy the visit. Guimaraes being the City where Portugal was born, is definitely a place to visit. It was here that the 1st King of Portugal, Afonso I, started in the 11th century. One can still see the remnants of old City while walking around.

Very happy with our stay. The bed was comfortable and we had a nice view of the City. There are places to eat all around, including a food market, close to it. The check-in was on the 1st floor, and there is people there to attend our needs till later in the day.

Even though free parking was advertised when arriving they expected us to pay extra for it and the receptionist was very unfriendly. On top of it there is a gym nearby that makes it impossible to rest during the day.

Gave us a hard time accepting us into hotel even with a COVID vaccination card. Made us get a self rapid test at a pharmacy and made us take it literally in the vestibule outside the hallway to the lobby elevator, making us wait one hour. We were treated very disrespectfully. The only reason we stayed and opted for an extra night was because we had already paid.

This hotel is conveniently located near the city's center. The hotel is spacious and clean. I enjoyed my time in the hotel. My friend and I had more than enough space in the room. The service was also amazing. Staff was always willing to help and showed a genuine interest in us and our time in the city. The breakfast also has good, healthy options. I recommend!

Fantastic hotel. 10 minutes walk from the centre which is a great place with quaint buildings and superb squares. We encountered a couple of problems our first night and the hotel staff could not do enough to help us and make our stay a very good one. If ever returned to Guimaraes again would stay here.

Great location. Nice sized room. Very clean. Comfortable bed.

Great location simple breakfast rooms ok and bathroom ok. Towels very thin and ripped and falling apart but did the job. Coffee making facilities but no milk or coffee. All in all i would say good hotel for central location but don't expect luxury.

Could not find reception easily. there needs to be a sign or some quicker way to find reception instead of guessing
