The hotel well located clean and very friendly. If you are looking for something very Scottish with lots of character this is not the hotel for you. But it was perfect in every other matter … even free parking. Great value!

My only criticism is there are no USB sockets which makes charging multiple devices difficult
Check in staff were unsmiling but helpful, it would have been good to be told there was filtered water machines on every floor because we found them by accident otherwise Apex is a great chain you know what you are getting - always our go to hotel for city breaks

Great quality and lovely rooms and bathroom. Big double shower and bath.
Loved the facility of water dispenser on each floor with decanter in room..
Coffee machine and fridge great. Safety deposit safe great.
We managed to check in 2 hours earlier than we thought. Brilliant 👏.
Spot on location wise in grassmarket and view of the castle.
We will definitely use again.

room was castle view and as this was very close to a busy main road outsuide could hear people passing by talking and vehicles going past/deliveries to shops/cafes throughout the night. I would not stay in this room again - the bed could be better too - the matress was uncomfortable and the pillows two the same size and neither ergonomic or firm.

The hotel is in a great location, easy to walk to so many attractions. Our room was great too. Nice and quiet and our son loved the size of the sofa bed. We didn't have breakfast at the hotel as there were so many options within walking distance. Got a taxi from airport to the hotel and back - we pre-booked ours but there were plenty available so I don't think that was necessary.
Would definitely stay here again.

Close to everything, especially the castle. Lots of pubs and eateries over the road. After walking around most of the city centre this is, by far, the best road to base your stay. The hotel was great and very quiet!

We are so grateful that we chose to take three day trips to Edinburgh and stay at this hotel while traveling from London. The hotel room was so spacious that we were afraid to return to our much smaller room in London! The staff were all very friendly and helpful, especially Natalia at the front desk. She made our stay even more enjoyable and comfortable. We will definitely recommend that our friends visit Edinburgh and stay at the Apex City of Edinburgh Hotel.
