We booked this hotel as the concert hall was right next door. Plenty of parking at an additional fee of £12. Reception was fast and we had a very polite lady who was very helpful. Our room was spacious with complimentary water and hot drinks sachets. Very clean, comfy beds although our sliding wardrobe doors were quite stiff to open. Shower hot and plenty of towels. We had the lift entrance door outside our room but we didn't hear it through the night. Breakfast was very busy due to the concert but we were seated within a few minutes and the service and breakfast was fantastic. Check out easy and again met with a smile. Excellent hotel. Thank you.

The Crowne Plaza is our go to hotel whenever we are in Glasgow. However this stay was a disappointment. On check in the staff member was friendly. We were given room 1220. When we got into the lift it smelt like sick. On opening the door to our room we instantly got a strong damp smell. At first we thought we would put up with it but it was very overpowering. My husband went down to reception and asked if we could change rooms and we were given room 1122. This room was a lot fresher. The room was spacious with lovely views over the Clyde. The plug in the sink was broken which was a bit annoying for my husband shaving. We used the pool facilities twice which was very nice. We ate in the restaurant on our first night. I ordered the tagine and my husband ordered the beef burger. We also got a portion of nachos to share. The nachos came out, they were nicely presented but didnt taste good. Im not sure how they were cooked but wonder if they were deep fried. Our main course was taken out my husband was served a chicken burger which is not what he ordered. Both our meals were taken back to the kitchen while a beef burger was prepared. After about 10 mins the correct meals were served. The waiting staff were not attentive and not once were we asked if we wanted any more drinks. We decided not to bother with any dessert after this. The final nail in the coffin was being charged £24 car parking for our 2 night stay. I thought the 12GBP was for the entire stay not per night.

It was good value for money however it does seem that the hotel is a little tired e.g. the bathroom door in the bedroom probably closed properly 25 years ago but fast forward 25 years worth of paint and no the bathroom door no longer closes. It’s not a big deal but just be aware that this is not a new modern hotel. It’s comfortable and clean, the restaurant is ok, pricey as with all hotel restaurants but food is ok. The swimming pool was fantastic.

Hotel expensive for what it is. Dated in parts and one dodgy slow elevator and one small normal one. Can imagine it’s good for people seeing a show at the venues next door but otherwise quite a walk to the centre traffic route there seems random.

Overall comfortable and nice use of the Club room for our son who enjoyed being in his own room too for a bit. Pool was a nice temperature which he enjoyed too! Aircon not working properly in the main part of the bedroom with even turned to lowest temp and max we noticed in the morning was actually warm which made for an uncomfortable sleep.

We arrived and were checked in by a very helpful gentleman, nothing was too much trouble for him. Follow that with an excellent room and a huge bed all lovely and clean. We booked a meal in the restaurant and again we could not fault it, the staff were excellent and very polite. Breakfast was boffet style, but the food was continually being replenished. 10 out of 10

Most aspects of our stay were fine but what let it down badly was the restaurant service for dinner. We had pre-paid and booked a table as this was a special occasion which was spoiled by poor service. Our table was booked for 6pm. Our drinks and meal order were taken promptly however it was some 50 minutes before the meal arrived and we did not have time to have a desert as we were attending a concert at the Ovo Hydro. Also a member of staff told us that he had been approached by other guests about the service including one couple who had waited 1 hour and 20 minutes for their meal. We feel that this was totally unacceptable as this hotel must provide this service on numerous occasions when concerts are on. This really spoiled our stay.

We were only staying for the one night of Andre Rieu’s Concert. It was very busy but all the staff couldn’t have been more helpful and friendly. We enjoyed a tasty early evening meal in very pleasant surroundings. Would recommend the Crowne Plaza Hotel to anyone. Thank you for helping make a much looked forward event so enjoyable.

Staff were warm, welcoming & accommodating. The hotel was exceptionally busy yet the cogs kept turning. They had everything under control & remained calm , for the public to see anyway. Well done to them. The staff were exceptional, the food was good, the wait was not long & the atmosphere was good.

The hotel was convenient for The Ovo which was why we chose it. It was extremely expensive for what we got.

We were in an insect infested room and had to be sent to a different hotel at around midnight. Not 4 star and not cheap at over £200 a night.
