Mercure Edinburgh City Princes Street Hotel

Our experience was amazing! Views, location, service, food!!

First of the view from this hotel is beautiful, my room was just what I needed as I was travelling alone. Check in was smooth, my room ready hours before my check in time which was a great relief as I'd travelled by train from Leicestershire, so getting rid of bags, cases and being able to rest was great, I did note they can look after bags before check in though. My room was just nice for me, clean, beautiful view, clean bathroom, with a great shower! Room had a large TV, hairdryer, ironing equipment, dry cleaning arrangements, tea/ coffee, kettle etc. Room was cleaned daily and drinks re stocked. The bed was the comfiest I've ever slept in whilst away and slept really good. The hotel is huge with 7 floors, I was on 7th but lifts are available if mobility is an issue. The restaurant is spacious with an amazing view of the castle, it was not overcrowded and the atmosphere was relaxed. All staff are polite and will help if needed. I loved Edinburgh and when I come back I'm hoping Mount Royal have a room for me. Thankyou for a quiet, relaxing stay.

A night in Edinburgh with family for a theatre trip. Excellent location, close to railway station. Beautiful views across to castle from breakfast room. Perfect for our visit.

Clean room, clean bathroom, a view of the scott monument and Edinburgh castle was right outside my window, everything was walking distance, and it’s in a super convenient location!

I extremely enjoyed my stay in Edinburgh because of the location the hotel is at. The staff was super helpful accommodating making sure our stay was as comfortable and as safe as we want it, everything from the hotel is walking distance from the locations that I need to go to the walk for no more than 15 minutes if not less Transportation at the hotel was amazing

The staff were so so friendly and super helpful which made the visit even more pleasant. The room was in perfect condition. I would most definitely recommend staying here!

This was the nicest hotel we stayed in during our 2 week trip to Scotland. It was also the most expensive one. Although very expensive, it is located on Princes Street, and so was very convenient to catch the Tram to the airport.

Really nice updated rooms with a wonderful view of the castle, Scott monument and the university. The staff was very friendly and allowed us to store our luggage and gave us ideas of things to do in the area until we were able to check in. Had a drink in the lounge area which was cozy and beautiful views as well.

Really small, old and trashy but great location

The location is wonderful! Close to the Scott monument and shopping! The staff was very helpful And friendly. I would stay here again!

Well located

My partner and i stay close to Edinburgh but fancied a little night away. we had an amazing time in the hotel, the male who checked us in was amazing, so lovely and upgraded our room! Checkout wasn’t until 12 which meant a lovely long lie! Would definitely recommend x

Very comfortable stay in a room with a view of the castle etc.

This was an AMAZING hotel with awesome views any way you look! Choose the castle view side if you can...well worth it!! As for the hotel, LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION...you are LITERALLY right on the main Prince Street...one block over from the Royal Mile...you walk out the front of the hotel and anyway you go, you can get to wherever/ whatever you are interested in seeing!! You can walk...grab a bus right across the street...walk a block and jump on the on/off sightseeing bus stop...the airport tram lets off right in front of the hotel...and you can walk right across the street to Waverly train station that will take you by train anywhere you need/want to go outside of Edinburgh. The staff was incredibly helpful in giving directions and the best way to get to what we were wanting to see. I cannot recommend this hotel any more than this...I would DEFINITELY choose them again if I ever return to Edinburgh...you won't regret this choice!!

We had a lovely stay at the Mount Royal. Lovely room, friendly staff and the breakfast was excellent. Look forward to returning.
