Travelodge Myeongdong City Hall

1. The room was not clean. We saw the same dirty spots when we checked-in and throughout our stay. There was dust everywhere especially the bathroom (toilet tank, behind the toilet tank, bathroom mirror). No toiletries or coffee packs were replishened until we asked the front desk to do so. 2. There is no exhaust fan in the bathroom. 3. Air conditioning was not on when the temperature was in the mid 70s farenheit. The front desk said it is not Spring; isn't April considered a Spring month? 4. We found hair in one of the trays in the breakfast buffet. It was brought to the staff's attention and all they did was remove it from the tray and still continue to serve it as if nothing happened. GROSS!! 5. Only one key card was given until we asked to provide a spare one. 6. Not enough washing and drying machine on premise. Another guest removed all of our clothes from the washing machine when we came downstairs to put in the dryer. We were only a couple minutes late to retrieve our items... It is so incredibly rude!

The property is conveniently located close to Myeongdong market, City Hall and within 1 mile of Seoul Station. The beds were pretty comfortable, but the room was a tad small for the 3 of us. Manageable, though. My only complaint was the AC and refrigerator were turned off because it was April and the weather was still cold (off even on warm days). We had to have front desk store our refrigerated items.

Good location, staff were courteous and friendly. I feel the room itself could be cleaner, my main gripe was the air conditioning which was centrally controlled and it was too warm for my liking.

Clean rooms and very responsive staff. Easy to access the bus and subway. Plenty of stores and food options in walking distance.

This is good location close to shops and subway lines. Also close enough to Seoul Station if youre gonna be moving a lot. The property is clean and modern. Gym is also decent (some marshmallow weight but fine, also got a treadmill and some kind of bowflex machine) if youre a gym rat who cant miss gym even on vacation. Property is simple hassle free. Staff is accomodating and nice. Dont expect 5 star but this is good comfortable modern and clean convenient hotel. Good value for your money. I would definitely stay again.

Easy check-in, clean and comfortable room, excellent location

This is a great hotel. The beds were super comfortable! That really helped with the jet lag. The breakfast has plenty of Korean and Western options. There is tons to do in the area and convenient to the subway and other transportation. Elevator was fast and the room was very clean. Gym was well stocked and we received great recommendations from the desk staff.

Everything about my stay was great! The location was an easy commute to city hall station, was 5min walk from Namdaemun market, and the surrounding area was very nice. Not a dealbreaker for me, but the description on the website said the myeongdong was only a 5 minute commute. From my experience, this was not accurate at all. Instead, it took around 15 minutes to get there, but it wouldn’t prevent me from booking at this location again. Additionally, the area was quite noisy. The wall is pretty thin, so you could hear everything going on in your neighbor’s room as well as outside of your window. Again, this wasn’t a dealbreaker for me, but there is something to keep in mind if you’re looking for a quiet location.

Clean, comfortable, convenient and reasonably priced

I picked this location as the 2 tours I took met a couple short blocks away. Simple but ample and clean rooms. Staff was very helpful with directions and questions!

Staff was super helpful whenever we needed assistance. Amenities were sufficient to meet our needs. Convenient location to transport and what we required. Overall a very comfortable stay.

If you prefer a quick summary, here it is: do not stay here. The building has a persistent unpleasant smell and is not clean. The only positive things I can say about this place are that the receptionists were welcoming and that it is well located. Unfortunately, that’s where the positives end. The building was poorly maintained and had a strong, musty smell throughout, from the elevator to the hallways and even in the room. It seems like the carpets need to be cleaned, which may be contributing to the odor. Additionally, the rooms were not very clean. The walls had marks on them, and found some hair on the bed. The bathroom was also poorly maintained. It seems that many of the positive reviews for this establishment may be influenced by a promotional offer. Guests who leave a review can receive a late checkout, and one hour of that late checkout is complimentary. Otherwise, there is a fee for late checkouts charged by the hour. I highly recommend that you avoid staying at this establishment if you can.

Great central location, close by transportation options and walking distance to sites of interest, many shopping and dining options. It is a good clean basic hotel, reasonably priced

Check in was very easy , perfect size for two people , was very thankful that the front desk clerk was able to use his own credit card to help us with laundry , very thoughtful and kind
