THC Bergantín Hostel

Hostel staff was kind and helpful, they held my luggage before my stay and brought the luggage to my room before I returned. The room amenities were sufficient (handsoap, shower gel/shampoo, toilet paper, bath towels) and the room and bathroom was clean. Good hot water pressure. Bed was comfortable, blanket was warm enough for end September weather. The AC worked and the double-paned glass windows really helped a lot to dull the noise outside though couldn’t completely cancel it out. The one thing that made my stay quite uncomfortable was the scent of the room—perhaps not everyone has a sensitive nose as I, so I didn’t mention it while I was there, now adding a note in case anyone has a similar condition. Something in the room air freshener or room spray irritated my air passages, felt like I was allergic. At first upon entering the room it wasn’t immediately noticeable though after being in the room for about 30 minutes it really started to affect me. I couldn’t figure out where the scent was coming from it seemed to permeate the room and it made my nose run non-stop so I had to open the window and push the bed next to the window in order to breathe more clearly. Unfortunately this also meant the outside sounds were no longer blocked and I heard nonstop noise from revelers, sirens, street cleaning so I couldn’t sleep at all the entire night. It’s too bad bc everything else was terrific.

Location Good- but do t expect a taxi to drop you off at door. Street is pedestrian only. Close to metro. Poor lighting as most of these old European buildings that have not been remodeled

This is an awesome little hostal in the heart of Madrid. Surrounded by shops, restaurants, pedestrian streets, metro stations, and historical sites. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. The room was very clean and although it was a small single room, it had everything I needed including AC which kept it very comfortable. I expect smaller rooms in Europe. Overall a good choice and i would definitely stay here again.

We stayed May 10 & 11, 2023. It was a great location for walking to many attractions & restaurants. In City center on the edge of Puerto Del Sol. Felt safe. Room was basic and clean. Price was right. Staff were excellent. I would recommend for a one or two night stay.

Staff were very friendly, helpful, and available. Despite some construction in the area, I would recommend it just on location...... downtown in Old Madrid close to Puerto Del Sol.

Es un bonito hostal,la habitacion fue conformtable .. pero queda en una zona donde tarde de la noche no es tan seguro esa fue nuestra impresion, nos descepciono un poco el hostal al final porque teniamos el vuelo a las 5 de la mañana y le pedimos al de la recepcion que nos llamara un taxi y su respuesta la cual no fue muy amable que a esa hora no se encontraba taxi que debiamos salir a buscarlo por nuestra cuenta, lamentablemente esta situacion le resto bastantes puntos a nuestra estadia porque creemos que en cualquier hotel del mundo siempre te ayudaran a buscar tu transporte para ir al aeropuerto.

Estuve por solo una noche y La atención al Llegar fue excelente el Hostal está Ubicado en un lugar muy Bueno queda en un 4 piso Tiene Ascensor, queda a 50 metros del Plaza Del Sol con la Estación del Metro muy Buena , Hay una Gran Cantidad de lugares De Comer y caminando a 10 minutos del Mercado San Miguel, Lo recomiendo 100% para las personas que quieran estar en el Centro de Madrid , quede muy Contento con mi visita en esta ocasión

I love this hotel. Strongly recommend it.

As a single I stayed 4 nights in double room in November. There was no need for air condition. PLUS: Central location. No problem to arrive after midnight. Clean. Good wifi. MINUS: Noisy neighborhood specially during night. You must have hermetically closed window, but then there is no ventilation in the bathroom. Bad sound isolation inside the hotel. No coffee/tea maker, no fridge, no breakfast. The value for money is much worse than in Rome,Napels,Berlin...even Paris. And Madrid is less beautiful and interesting city then these are.

It actually exceeded my expectations. My room was modern, clean, and comfortable with plenty of natural light. Location can not be better. Staff was professional, friendly and very helpful.

Excellent staff, friendly and helpful from start. Really stood out when we had trouble booking train to Barcelona. Fun location in the very lively Sol area, and closing windows shut out the rowdy street sounds (a/c was running). Quirky tiny old elevator but it does its job. Small room, but fine for sleeping. Excellent value in cool area

Close to plaza Sol-pros &cons to this. Because the entry streets were swamped with tourists making it hard to walk & get decent fair priced meals. The ambiance was simple, quiet and comfortable. While we felt safe there. The entry & welcome was blah: The reception staff lacked any warmth & were not helpful with information. This was a definite negative. They wete just occupying the desk. The hallway to our room had huge lovely old photos of Madrid.

Great location and service. Really happy with this hostel

I had a single room just off of the check in desk. It was disgusting. It was like the room was not cleaned. Dirt and hair all over the floor and the room was a joke. I think "the room" used to be a storage area with a wall placed halfway over a window. This wall made a dangerous bathroom with the so called shower so small, you couldn't turn around without hitting the valve and scalding yourself.

Hotel located next to Puerta del Sol. Very friendly and helpful staffs. We had a great time there.
