We loved our 3 night stay here .The hotel was everything we could have asked for -
wonderful ,friendly staff(shout out to Champika and Dilshan and everyone else ),lovely accomodation and the food was exceptional.We came here straight from Colombo airport with our excellent driver ,Dushan Theekshana and while here we climbed Sigiryia Rock ,visited Dambulla caves ,enjoyed a wonderful local cultural show in Habarana and will take in Polonnaruwa on our way to Uga Bay .We could have done a safari but we are doing one later in our trip .
So glad we came to Sri Lanka and equally glad we picked this hotel .

This hotel is well located for important sites near Habarana. It has extensive grounds, a large pool and looks onto a lake.
However, our "superior" room was very tired. Given the price, we were very disappointed.
The hotel was full of tourist groups when we stayed.
Breakfast and dinner were buffets. There was plenty of choice but some of the dishes were disappointing.
There were quite a number of wild dogs in the grounds, chasing monkeys the day we left.
The night before our departure we went to reception to settle our bill and waited while the final restaurant bill was added. But in the morning, they stopped us, saying they had forgotten items, which seemed disorganised. This delayed us.
Overall, the hotel is rather old now and we felt we paid a lot for a very medicre experience. We stayed in much nicer hotels for less. It was also irritating that they add taxes and service of about a third to all the drink and snack prices quoted on the menu. We preferred other hotels which included them in the quoted price.

I booked with them deluxe room with king bed ocean view, they tried to give me garden view and they were trying to convince me it is the best room in the hotel, my friend discovered that the room was garden view, when we told them, they took us to an ocean view room with with single beds, they tried to put the 2 beds togethers with 2 Matterses with 2 covers. I was so upset because they were trying to cheat me, I asked them for king bed or upgrade with king bed, they gave me the upgrade with king bed. Please be careful because I noticed that all the hotels they will try to give you room less than what you paid for.

Authentic Sri Lankan hotel set in a beautiful location by the lake. Rooms were very spacious and immaculate. Staff were friendly and helpful, asking if you needed anything at various points of our stay. Restaurant food was buffet style. Lots of choice, fresh and delicious. Very friendly staff across the board. Great location to reach day trips to Sigiriya, Pollonaruwa, Anuradhapura, Dambulla, and safari/hiking, etc. and unwind/relax at the pool/spa. Lakefront is great for reading or for a morning jog. Rooms/facilities are new and well maintained. Staff goes over and beyond to make your stay comfortable.

The property is old, the monkeys and stray dogs is an issue. The food was a huge selection, the desserts looked nice, but only few items are great. The Shisha/ Hookah was too old and the bar staff did not know how to operate the shisha/ hookah for that price. They only placed one coal. There are snakes.

Our experience at Cinnamon Lodge was excellent. The staff in particular was very attentive as they always made sure we were well taken care of. Room facilities were great as well. Breakfast and dinner buffet spreads were amazing with tons of flavour made and our tastebuds happy.

Absolutely breathtaking grounds we had a lovely tour with one of groundskeeper. He showed us the organic vegetable gardens and the butterfly garden. All the staff went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. Food was delicious. Thank you

This lodge exceeded my expectations. Big comfy bed with fluffy pillows, best food in Sri Lanka with local sourced buffet. They called to check on me after settling in, provided umbrellas, and surprised me with an artful safari display. Wish I stayed another few days. Pool and lakeside view lovely. The homemade soursop ice cream was heaven in a cone!

Fabulous hotel all round. Beautiful surroundings, especially for the nature lover. Rooms immaculate, lovely pool and gardens and delicious food. Service friendly but maybe too attentive at times. Was a return visit for us and did not disappoint. Highly recomended.
