Remote, but nice place if you want to explore the countryside and lake. Very nice property. Staff was helpful, but often difficult to find. For the first three hours of our checkin there was some extremely loud and heavy machine construction right outside our room and the workers could look into our window. We were excited that there was sauna on the property, but were told on checkin that it would be an additional 250 SEK (about $25) per person, which is not worth it. We had an early departure to catch a flight at the Goteborg airport, so the staff were very kind to make a take-away breakfast the night before.

Very nice and peaceful place. Unfortunately we didn't order great weather for our one night stay. The view is probably amazing if it's sunny! We got a room in the bottom floor so no lake view unfortunately. The room was quite small but worked perfectly for us.

Hallsnas was one of the very few hotels that made me feel so comfortable that I didn't want to leave! Great staff, great atmosphere and great rooms. I could easily place it in my top 10 of more than 200 hotels that I have stayed. I will definitely prefer it for my next visits in the area.

Very quite and peaceful

The Place is far from Gothenburg if without car but it is placed right next to a wonderful lake. The hotel is organized in comfortable and private huts with all the commodities. The staff is super friendly and to add to it, the hotel host an excellent restaurant .

I have done quite a few hotel reviews, and almost all of them are positive. Sometimes certain hotels aren't right for certain people. On Hotels.com, this hotel was listed as within a few miles of the airport, which after a huge complaint by me, Hotels.com changed the information after confirming with this hotel that this hotel is nowhere near the airport, unless you are a bird. Driving wise it is farther than downtown Gothenburg, as there is no easy way of getting here. I think if you wish to be by a lake and have mediocre rooms with spiders inside the rooms (daughter was up all night, terrified to sleep), this is the place for you. The food at the restaurant was really good and the service was as well. I thought my family and I would be staying in the house that is in the picture, but no, a tiny little spider filled cabin that was a far walk away. We were in Europe for 3 weeks in July (last month), unfortunately this was our last hotel, and I was hopefully selecting a bed & breakfast type of place, with cute rooms, maybe a lake view, with peace and quiet. I made a bad choice for my family!

The location is beautiful. Everything about this place is very good except for the rooms which are a bit of a disappointment. The ‘self catering’ room had absolutely no utensils. Not even a kettle. The rooms are rather small as well.

The most picturesque stay you could imagine. Although the room was a bit small for three it would be fine for two and the views, service and ease to get into Gothenburg are worth it.

The location was very romantic, quite isolated and very quiet, even though only a fem minutes drive from town and 20 minutes from Gothenburg. The approach transports you back in time to the 70´s. Be aware of the crossing train. A little bit difficult to find, you nede to keep going after you think you`ve taken a wrong turn somewhere. The veiw is fantastic and the close proximity to the lake is breathtaking. The hotel is spread out in a number of buildings. The layout is charming, but som of the buidings are of a quite simpel character. The rooms we had were small but quite charming, but without any kind of veiw. We will upgrade next time. The rooms were poorly soundproofed and I recommend a bungalow if you require silence during nighttime. The staff were friendly and helpful, but maybe not all together professional - not that that subracted from our experience. Easy checkin and ample parking. Some aktivities. Nice and ample public areas, partly with a great ambience. But the food... the food. Wow. The menu was quite small, but what there was of it was absoultely fantastic. The cook was this middelaged guy from some other country who managed to make even simple dishes taste like heaven. This guy really knops what he`s dooing. I had the best desert I have had in all my life. It blew famous gourmet restaurants right out of the water. The meals alene was worth the entire trip. I`ll be back!

The staff were lovely and friendly, we booked to stay over the night before flying back to England we were hoping to use the hot tubs and dine in the restaurant. We were told on arrival there was a Buffett until 4.30 but then the reception and restaurant was closed as it was a Sunday?? We got to the Buffett at 3.50 to be told it was closing and we had been given the incorrect time, the waitress spoke to the kitchen and kindly arranged for them to keep it open half an hour for us to eat. Disappointed that we were then confined to our room the rest of the evening with no facilities not even a cup of coffee or a drink! We would not have booked if we had been told this. It’s so sad because the hotels beautiful and we booked to use the facilities and relax and we’re completely locked out of the main building!

Beautiful location not far from airport or Gothenburg. Right on lake with a shore trail that is beautiful and relaxing to stroll. Went out of their way to take care of us. Arranged early morning transport. Would come back in a heartbeat.

Found this hotel with a last-minute search and was pleasantly surprised. Thought it was going to be rustic cabins on a lake, it turned out to be a corporate retreat with really nice rooms and facilities. Breakfast was included with the room and fruit, bread, yogurt, eggs, and juices were available. Fitness room was larger than most hotel fitness facilities and included stationary bike, elliptical machine, and weights. Rooms were large with comfy beds; bathroom was very large (compared to most other hotels) and clean. Bikes are available for use by guests to ride around the lake. Wish I had had more time to spend at Hallsnas.

The staff at the hotel were exceptionally friendly and helpful given my special requirements during my stay, nothing was too much trouble.
