Rainbow Hotel

the hotel is basic. location is excellent. very much at the heart of night market. but surprisingly, I did not hear the street noise. The walls are thin so the noice from hallway is audible. There is no food option within the facility but as it is in the heart of the ximending area, then it really does not need it.

If you are shopaholic and foodaholic, this is the hotel you should book! Location is perfect and Ximending is the suburb that never sleep! The hotel service is quick (when we have issue with our door key) and efficient (book for airport transfer and having someone to guide and take us to taxi). Even though the hotel is just only 3 star rating, the room is being kept clean and tidy everyday upon our request. There is an eating place at one of the floor (outside food allowed) with soft drinks, tea and coffee machine plus snacks provided to us who stayed in the hotel. A generous compliment gift bag (pineapple cake and fragrance soap) was given to us who celebrated NEW YEAR in this hotel. Highly recommended hotel and you will enjoy the vibrant night life here!

Very very convenient location. Is inside 西门丁, 5min walk from Mrt to hotel...room abit small for standard room. But i like it. Foc drinks 24hrs at level 3 Service very good and friendly Highly recommended

I really enjoyed staying at this hotel. It surprised me. Based on the reviews I’d read, I braced myself and set my expectations low, but it was a good stay. The double room I got was medium sized and clean with daily housekeeping. The Taiwanese government has banned hotels from providing guests single-use amenities for environmental reasons. so you won’t get any, but they provide body wash, shampoo and conditioner. Each room has its own private WiFi setup which I’ve never seen before, but sometimes, it was spotty. There is no breakfast, but on the 3rd floor are small fridges of free mini canned soft drinks, a hot drinks machine that also does hot chocolate (!) and a box of packets of chips (or crisps, depending on where you’re from). All they ask is that you don’t waste them. There are also tables on that floor, for people to share meals with their traveling group if needed. The hotel is right in the middle of the Ximending shopping area, which can get, crowded. My window faced the street, but I always wear noise masking earbuds to sleep, so I don’t know how noisy it could get. The bathroom was a bit small, but had a bath tub, shower and toilet. The hotel location makes it easy to access transport links, food, shopping and is 20 mins from Taipei Main Station where the Express train from Taoyuan Airport stops. There is even a Sports Center nearby, at NT$ 50 per hour to use the gym/pool facilities, if you are someone who needs to. And there are a number of laundromats close too

Rainbow hotel is NOT a pretty hotel. However it is very good enough to explore ximending and the surrounding area. From the reception area to the rooms , totally outdated and looked so tired of a hotel. The room was clean enough to stay in . No restaurant, however, their former restaurant is now a pantry where stayers can enjoy free snacks and drinks. Wi fi is not that bad but the room where i stayed is so slow that i have to go the pantry/ 3rd floor to have a better signal. If you are not fussy with aesthetics and comfort, this will be good enough.

The in-room air conditioning was a major problem—it felt no different from the 98-degree heat outside in Taipei. Since I work U.S. hours, restful sleep is crucial, but instead I had a miserable experience. Maintenance was called in, inspected the unit, and appeared to be addressing the issue, but there was no improvement whatsoever. I ultimately left a day early and moved to another hotel. While the location is convenient, the service is lacking. To add to the disappointment, the hotel permitted homeless individuals to sleep on the stairs at the entrance, which hardly felt like a welcoming arrival.

It is quite dated but the 5-person room I booked was great for our family. Just that there was only 1 bathroom. The bathtub was not in the greatest condition but everything was functioning. Great location as it is right in the middle of Ximending and walkable to Ximen station. We loved the location and enjoyed our stay. Was super grateful that we were able to check-in earlier than 5pm due to low season. Enjoyed the free snacks and drinks that were available. Pretty good stay for us.

The only good thing about this hotel is the location. It's very convenient and easy to go around for food and shopping. Other than that, everything else is terrible about this hotel: it is very old, not so clean, there's a very bad smell in the bathroom on the 3rd floor dining area, bad customer service, building structure is terrible (water leaks inside the room from the window when raining), very limited daylights in the room, and most important, there's ants inside the room! Horrible! Overall this hotel is old and not good. I will not recommend.

Good location but run down property Free snacks and water

Excellent hotel very convenient to shopping, restaurants, and street food. It was a very large comfortable room. The staff was very friendly and extremely helpful.

The hotel is located in the middle of Ximending and it take only about 3 mins walk from Ximen Station Exit 6. Lots of dining options nearby and definitely a hotel that I will go back again.

We appreciated the prompt sevice request for extra pillows. Cleaning the room, making the beds, and giving us ckean fres towels everyday made our stay very comfortable. Thank you very much

The best thing about the property is accessibility. It is right in the middle of the Ximen night market with shopping and food choices. It is a few minute walk from the Ximen Station, which is 1 ride away from Taipei Station. The 2nd best thing is the free snacks and drinks. The 3rd is the good room and comfort room size that are comfortable. The room itself is basic but no complaints. Worth it for the price. Recommended and will stay again.

Staff are friendly. Good customer service for travellers including same day delivery laundry service, lounge area serving free drinks and cookies. Hotel is located inside the Ximenting business area, perfect for travellers.

Disappointing Stay – Not Recommended I had a very disappointing experience at this hotel. The building is extremely old and poorly maintained, which immediately gives a bad impression upon arrival. The cleanliness was unacceptable — the bathroom had visible mold, which made it feel unsanitary and uncomfortable to use. The towels provided were greyish rather than white, clearly worn out and not properly cleaned. To make matters worse, the receptionist was unfriendly and unhelpful. It's unfortunate when staff show little regard for hospitality, especially when guests are already dealing with subpar conditions. The only positive aspect of this hotel is its location, which is convenient and central. However, that alone is not enough to justify staying here. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone and strongly suggest looking elsewhere for better value and comfort.
