Ideally located at the bottom of Kata beach just a few minutes walk either on the street/narrow paths or along the beach to where the majority of Kata restaurants and shops start. Our room was well-appointed and with a bed that was big and comfortable. The view from our room was glorious, overlooking the pool and out to the ocean just what we had hoped for. More than anything though, it was the staff who made our stay so memorable. We found all the Chanalai staff courteous, respectful and willing to assist whenever needed. Nothing was too much trouble. A special shout out to poolside staff especially Bank.

Sea view rooms are very good thou you are looking over the hotel pool and you will have to carry your suitcases down 2 staircases if you don't ask for assistance when checking out due to lack of lifts.

Nice hotel very close to Kata beach, restaurants and bars. Rooms are a little dated but big and pretty comfy. There are two pools and plenty of sunbeds at both. The bar staff were all fantastic, really friendly and fun! The hotel offers airport pick up if you request it 2 days in advance but I did this and they still did not manage to actually help me with a pick up so I would recommend organising your own transport

My parents, younger brother, and I stayed at Chanalai Garden Resort (rooms 3205 & 3206) from 28 June to 1 July 2025. My parents were in room 3206. We checked in early evening with just backpacks and one small luggage. My dad had placed MYR1,000 (10 x MYR100 notes) in the side pocket of his backpack, specifically reserved for duty-free alcohol purchases on the last day. That cash was never touched throughout the trip. Unfortunately, on the morning of 1 July, just before checking out, he discovered the money was gone. There were two known occasions where staff entered for housekeeping—once on 29 June (room was cleaned while we were out for dinner) and again on 30 June (only bottled water was replaced, and strangely, the bed remained messy). Meanwhile, our room next door was cleaned properly on 30 June, which made the rushed and incomplete service in my parents’ room feel suspicious. When reported, the hotel denied everything (as expected). Extremely disappointed that such a breach of trust could happen in a supposed 4-star hotel. Would not recommend this place—your belongings may not be safe.

I think my favorite thing about the property was I do believe every room had a view of the sea, which was so unusually unique and the staff was absolutely wonderful ❤️
