Lamai Inn 99 Bungalows

My third stay at Lamai Inn! Had a deluxe room this trip, very clean, right on the beach and two minutes from lamai street and restaurants, very friendly staff and three great restaurants/bars on the doorstep! Rooms are basic but great AC, internet and a fridge, don’t need anything else! Will definitely return as Koh Samui is amazing!!

This is my go to hotel to stay at when visiting. The staff is very kind and the rooms are nothing impressive but are nice and the AC works great. They have a very nice little pool and the beach access is very convenient.

Stop looking now and book the Deluxe Room, Seaview at this property and you will be getting an amazing deal! The pictures on Expedia don’t do it justice. You’re literally steps away from the sand and can see the ocean from your bed. Each one of these rooms also has a couple of deck chairs and a couple of private loungers. The room itself is nothing fancy, but it’s clean and big and comfortable. They have a restaurant, bar and massage shack right at the beach as well. The staff is amazing! They keep the beach clean, which is a struggle in that area. Also, housekeeping is super trustworthy. I left some money out accidentally and they didn’t touch it. Wi-Fi was excellent, Pool is OK, but you won’t even use it if you’re in the Seaview rooms. It’s back across the road with the rest of the rooms. You can walk to everything fun in town in just a few minutes, but it’s far enough to miss all of the noise. You will hear some music from the beach club next-door, but it’s actually kind of nice. I would stay here again in a heartbeat, but only in the Seaview rooms! Pro tip: room number 58 seems like the best one with the best view and best lounger positioning. Call and beg for it after you reserve. If you can score that one, you win Lamai! My room might “technically” be the “worst”. Do I sound sad? They are all great. It’s about a 35 minute taxi ride from the airport and will run you 600 baht. They don’t have a hotel shuttle service.

Great position almost right on the beach… Lamai has a fabulous beach so it was wonderful to be so close. The rooms are a little tired and well used (understandably) but for the location and price I would stay again.

The hotel is right on the beach and was in an ideal location, close to many eating establishments. The room was clean and comfortable with great a/c. The place is a little overpriced but my only issue with it is that the wi-fi was slow and sometimes frozen up when too many people are using it.

Right on the beach, easy walk to the main Lamai road, great beach bars/restaurants (bamboo, red elephant and coconut) within a few metres. Room was basic but clean, comfortable bed, decent fridge and AC. Staff were lovely. Had three great weeks here exploring Koh Samui, would use again, hopefully soon !!

The staff were always happy to help with any inquiries we had and offered $ saving options for our sight seeing adventures. Very happy with everything! ☺️

Quiet area around the hotel with a short walk from the busy restaurants/stores. Beach with great sand area and possibility to rent a scooter and visit all the other locations around the area. Recommend for someone looking for an easy/safe place to stay with good accessibility to any village around.

Go every year

Nice bungalows, but the roads to them are not well lit. Most importantly, there are no beach chairs, bean bags, or anything other than sand so sit on. They do not offer towel checkout either, forcing you to use a room towel or buy one. The rooms themselves are pretty decent and the staff was generally nice. They lose out a lot by not having any beach furniture or lighting.

Pretty decent place & good value for money. The A/c wasnt working well in the room, on complaining, the reception team made it sound like we dont know how an A/c works. Their reaction was that its good enough for us. Was pretty irritating & unbecoming. After about 2 hours we complained again, this time thankfully they changed our room. Telling us to clear out the original room, move our luggage & come to the reception to deposit the key. Would skip staying there again, purely on account of the condescending behavior of the reception staff. Good beach just outside & a short 2 min walk to the main street.

Close to central part of the beach and town. New buildings. good design. Staff helpful and friendly. Buffet breakfast is very bad and potentially dangerous. Food lying around in unheated trays, contents always cold and potential bacteria trap. Fortunately food looks very, very unappetizing limiting once interest in eating it. Be very careful what you eat. Easily remedied by offering freshly cooked items to order.
