America's Best Value Inn in Yucca Valley is a convenient and nice place to stay as a base for which to explore Joshua Tree Park and other nearby attractions such as Pioneer Town, Coachella Valley, and nearby Oases. The room was clean but we ran out of toilet paper after two days and I had to get more from the front desk first thing in the morning. They were happy to give me some, but maybe they should have a couple rolls in each room just in case. The hotel is right next to a nifty little movie theater which is great for escaping the heat in the mid afternoon. We watched Looney Tunes: The Day The Earth Blew Up, and it was hilarious. The theater also serves hot food such as pizza, hotdogs, burgers, hot wings, nachos, etc, so you can eat lunch while you watch a movie in the plcool and dark. Also they never sit you next to others so there is always lots of space, and admission is Totes McGoats affordable. The pool was nice and cold and the hot tub worked well. Great for a soak at any time of the day until 10:30pm. Lots of local eateries including Mexican, pizza, diner food, Thai, hippy dippy, vegetarian, and health food options. There is a balcony for relaxing too. One night there were some loud guests partying in the parking lot but I was awake late anyways so they didn't bother me. They were listening to their car stereo. There is a cool little record shop called HooDoo Records just up the road, and the guy there is a punk music aficionado who loves to chat.

A/C didn’t work. It was a fan. WiFi didn’t work. TV didn’t work for hours because the owner wasn’t there to take a look at it. Asked if we could switch rooms, and we were told no. The place was empty. Owner came over and argued about the AC telling us it was working (It was not, and the room stayed very hot), also argued with us telling us the WiFi was working (It was not). The themed rooms were cute, and you can tell someone cared a lot about creating them, but the lack of very basic amenities and an argumentative owner make this a do not stay.

The front counter lied about not having the room available and wouldn’t give me a key thinking I was bringing someone else in

Cockroach in the bathroom. Hot tub in room was broken. Needed to go to Walmart in the middle of the night to grab a space heater because the heater in the room kept shutting off even though the room never got comfortably warm.

The rooms are clean. The heater works well with no weird smells or anything. Check in was smooth. No house keeping each day during your stay. Bed is not the most comfortable it needs more cushion.

Upon arrival everything went well besides the fact that (what I believe to be ) the owner came out to the front desk wearing sandals with no socks… that immediately lowered any expectations I had, we acquired the Jungle room. The jungle room was nice, I’d assume after reading the reviews, that the only good maintained clean rooms are the cave and jungle…

My husband and I stayed here February 28th and March 1st. We were so happy with the property and the staff! Our room had a hot tub which was wonderful and so comfortable. The property is quiet and peaceful and the wonderful couple that runs the place are very nice people and welcome you everyday with the smile. We liked it so much we are returning for our anniversary in a few months.

Loved the themed room, the bath was great and jets worked wonderfully. Ceiling in shower did have few stains. Wifi was included in stay. TV seemed to stop working around 8pm and wouldn’t turn on again
