Great place, excellent waterpark. Needs a touch of paint and cosmetic upgrade. Otherwise, very fun and lots of amenities, even when its cold with snow. Great cabin like bar above lobby. Beautiful lake view. Close to downtown.

Bigger than average rooms. The pool was great and warm. I wish the lazy river would have been warm too. It's great that they have life jackets available to use, but most of them were torn and there were not enough of the smallest size.

I loved my room as it overlooked Lake Darling! Glad I was able to stay there, as I have always wanted to stay at the resort.

Nice enough condition for an obviously older facility. We had a nice balcony and view from our room. But a rather strange operating environment. Our check-in gal was definitely not friendly, and I've never been at a hotel that didn't have coffee available. We had to drive into town for breakfast & coffee or water both days we were here. Seems really strange when we're staying at a "resort." Plus, we arranged for a slightly late checkout of noon (you had to pay extra if you wanted a 1:00 or 2:00 check out). I literally had somebody at my door at 11:59, wondering what I was planning on doing. I told her I was leaving at noon and she looks at her watch and back at me with a smirk, like "what are you waiting for?" Very strange, and not exactly hospitable. Not a place I will come back to.

Pool chlorine levels were way too high causing 10 of our family members to get rashes, some as bad as chemical burn appearance. We discussed this with the waterpark manager Shelly the next morning as we were told the night before that no one was there to handle this at the time. Shelly told us she would look into it and call us to let us know what they were going to do to make it right…. We are now 5 days later and have not heard a thing, AS EXPECTED! We have pictures of all the kid’s rashes/chemical burns and fully intend to make a formal complaint We were at the restaurant for 45 minutes before we got our drinks, even though the order was taken right way. Our food order was finally taken at about 70 minutes of being there. They brought complimentary chips and salsa out at about 100 minutes of being there due to the wait. We finally got our food after being there about 2 hours. 2 of the orders were wrong, not getting their sides at all. And we got two of the dishes about 10 minutes after the others. We finished eating about 20-30 minutes after that but proceeded to need to wait for our bill for another 30-40 minutes. Then when we got our bill the entree’s prices in the menus did not match the receipt. The kids meals all were $1 more than what was listed in the menu and most of the other entrees were more on the receipt than what the menu said as well. And this WAS NOT the gratuity! We were told they took the automatic gratuity off and left it up to us due to our very wait.

We were attending a funeral. They allowed us to gather as a large group and reminisce in the up stairs bar. The resort is quite spread out. I wish there was a facility map to show where everything was. Breakfast was buffet and nothing special for extra money.

So I think this is the first time I’ve ever complained but this place was gross and I got nothing resolved from them so I thought I’d warn people. I walked in with my 2 year old after flying all day to a bathroom smeared with brown in random places and dyed onto the shower curtain. Also whoever was in the room previously’s hair all over the place very obviously, dirt (socks were dark after walking through) and trash in the cans from the people before us. Then my bath tub nor the sink would drain. So I asked front desk to help me out (while trying to control the now very tried angry toddler at 11pm) They sent someone to fix the drains and they left all of the cloths they used to clean out the drain and whatever came out of it all over the tub after they left. I reached out once again to ask someone to come clean the bathroom again and no one ever came. I did this two more times before buying my own cleaning products. $800.00 dollars later for cleaning the place myself and a toddler that beat my ass for not being able to go to bed. Worst experience I’ve ever had at a hotel much less resort.

We came for the waterpark to be informed when we arrived that it was closed and that no one could tell me because I booked on Expedia. That should be worked out between them and Expedia. In addition the floors were dirty in our room, there were ants and sand in the normal indoor pool and the restaurant was closed both evening and morning we were there. My two young boys were heartbroken that we drove two hours each way for such a bad experience.

Dirty dirty dirty dirty if you don't mind that, then you're fine. Hallways are not illuminated to be safe, wallpaper pealing off, cobwebs behind the curtains in a suite. Bathroom hadn't been cleaned. Hallway light in suite has 20 watt bulbs in it. Unbelievable place sitting in a time warp from the 1970's.

There were about 30 or more hockey rooms booked the same night and had boys running up and down the halls and slamming doors yelling all night until 1130pm I called the front desk asking if someone could let them know my family and I were trying to sleep along with my 1 year old and they told me of course. Nothing changed. Paid $85 for breakfast and all there was was french toast sticks sausage bacon and scrambled eggs. Really gone down hill the last few years

Not worth the expensive price tag! I would’ve preferred to stay at one of the major chain hotels within Alexandria. It seemed like our room wasn’t occupied in some time, as result it hadn’t been cleaned in a while. Found hair on the pillows, sinks and toilets were dirty. Our room was freezing the first night, it took most of the next day to heat up. There were very few dining options within the resort. The breakfast buffet in their main restaurant was very limited in offerings and nothing for those with alternate dietary needs. Only stayed there as it was a team trip, but probably wouldn’t do that again.
