Best Western Saranac Lake

The smell in the room was terrible, dirty carpets, couldn’t bring ourselves to spend the night there!

The customer service was excellent!

Breakfast - change /alternate what’s offered every other day maybe for variety

Location was good. Breakfast room was fair. But not as clean as it should have been. Ice machine was not working and had a Temporary out of order sign on it as did the washing machine and a few other things that were out of order for some time by looking at the condition of the tape and the signs they had been there awhile.

Not as clean as the amount they charge for the stay. Rooms were smelly. Also, be aware of doing any credit card transactions. They charged my credit card even though the room was pre-booked through Expedia.

I was in town from Wisconsin visiting my son. The staff was great, and the hotel room was clean. I enjoyed my stay.

1st room given clearly had just had someone sitting on the bed with the bed set up for sitting - and was not ready-staff then went and "checked" the room -then said the room was ready-how could it be cleaned in the 5 minutes they spent "checking" it?! Bizarre!!! They just fluffed up the bed that someone had been sitting on and said the room was ready! It was 2 hours past check in time. I refused the room because I thought it would be gross to sleep in a bed someone had just been sitting on or doing whatever. I was given a new room that was better. Entire building needs a deep cleaning and furniture in my room was dingy, scratches in the table. Others mentioned the blast of bleach smell when you walk into the place - it is because the laundry is next to reception. Also beware - the coffee at the breakfast comes out of a Nescafe machine...I couldn't drink it. There is a Keurig in the room also luckily. It was quiet and I did sleep so if that is all you need this is your place.

There were bed bugs, mold in the shower,

The property and rooms were clean. Not new, but not bad either. I was disappointed in the morning staff. They had the “stepped away from the desk” sign up, but were in the back room behind the desk just hiding with the lights off. The evening staff was much better and more attentive. I did not attend breakfast, but heard the food was scarce.

Our room was signed off to someone else under MY name. They gave us another room and it smelled like mold and the shower flooded the bathroom floor!

Nice surroundings. Parking close by. Staff erratic: some good, some not so much Room smelled of mildew. Poor lighting. Drab bedding.

We stayed in room 107 the toilet was wobbly and the shower cutain was stained and smelled mildewy. They cleaning people only brought in clean towels every day, but did not clean the room or change the bedding. The breakfast room were dirty, only the desk clerk working so the tables were never cleaned. When i checked out a note was on the desk that they clerk has step away so i left the key on the desk with 5 other key from others guest. For 572 dollars it was nit worth it, we expected more from best western. Needless to say I will not be stay at best Western again.

Total property needs updating! Frogs in the pool area. Coffee was not good!

Shower dirty and broken. Very strong incense smell that gave everyone headaches

Lobby area was dark. Check-In was chaotic- had to find another room. Room had a strong odor upon entry. Bathroom was small, counter low and ceiling looked unclean. Beds were ok. Breakfast was minimal.

Our room was open at the moment of arriving. The carpet had a feeling like it was wet. The room was humid. The coffee maker was not working. The breakfast was poor.

Good place to relax and take a stop!

I guess it’s not expensive and it’s ok for the price.
