Courtyard by Marriott Cleveland Elyria

A gem in the middle of nowhere. Room is spacious, very clean and comfortable, with simple furniture but very practical. Staff is great. Overall I'm really satisfied. But it's behind what looks like an "abandoned" shopping mall. So basically it's in the middle of nowhere.

Our reservation with Expedia added the breakfast fee auto added at the reservation time. Per hotel staff, the breakfast is ala crate, not included with the visit. Requested extended stay until 3 to 4 . pm, declined stating cleaning staff prefers to be done around 2 and therefore we were offered extended until 2pm. After the first night, we were told that their records indicate that we check out at 2 pm the day before our check out day. We ended up being given a new set of key cards because the original one were expiring the day before. The heating system was a hit or miss. The first night it stayed at the same temperature even with the change of the setting. We were asked to join membership however I am not sure if we would want to be members for this hotel. I hope it was only this location and not multiple other Marriott hotels.

This hotel is well kept and the staff was friendly and took care of me. For that, 5 stars. But I have a problem with it that they shortcut several of the amenities such that it seems like they are trying to market a side-of-freeway hotel in a sketchy neighborhood as a courtyard to command a higher price. For example, the business center is a single computer and printer out in the open alongside the checkin counter - no privacy. The pool is the side of a postage stamp .. no one uses it bc it has no practical use. And the gym was a few treadmills and some sad free weights. I left with the impression that Marriott has a checklist for what a hotel has to have to be called a Marriott and these people did the bare minimum to check all the boxes. It's a fine hotel but it shouldn't be a courtyard. I expected more because of the brand and left feeling like I overpaid.

The people at the desk are amazing and kind and friendly. As welcoming of an atmosphere as any place I've ever stayed

No tea and coffee station in the lobby when restaurant is closed after 10 am or 10 pm. Lower priced places usually have this, so I expect it here.

Very nice Hotel, great space and very quiet.

The hotel overall was fine. It's just in a very weird location - driving around an abandoned mall to a spot along the highway was odd. Still, the location was convenient and we did enjoy our stay, but it's definitely an in-and-out kind of place.

Friendly service and easy check in

Easy to get to from the highway, which was great at night. Staff was friendly, the room was clean. Smart stop when you want to be just west of Cleveland.

The heating unit made a noise that kept me awake. There was a box of tissues in the bathroom but there were only two left (not a big issue).

Staff at cafe needs to be professional. They acted like you were a bother.

Nice place and clean

Booked a stay here so we could check out surrounding areas - the location seems sketchy because it's near an abandoned mall but the hotel looks brand new and is very clean. My whole family got good nights sleep and it was very quiet.

Newer property so very clean. Comfortable and spacious double room and bathroom. No restaurants near by but a nice restaurant on the property. Walls are a bit thin - lucky I had quiet neighbors. EXTREMELY welcoming front desk and housekeeping team.

This was a great choice. The convenience stores are less than 5 miles away. Although the area has many closed businesses, this hotel stands out!
