We had a great time here. All of the food that we had at multiple restaurants was amazing. We really enjoyed the pool and cabana. Every staff member that we came in contact with was very friendly. Can’t wait to go back.

Nice hotel. Free parking in garage. Would visit more often if it were not ridiculously expensive. It is more cost effective to go to Vegas, even with flights.

I wanted to love everything, but I was sorely disappointed in the cleanliness of our room. Found someone’s press on nail in the bed, ants in the bathroom, and woke up to a spider crawling down a large web… Our bed only had a sheet. Odd, but I called twice and couldn’t get the front desk to answer, had to go downstairs to ask for a blanket. The casino was fun, service was terrible. The ladies working the desk to get the player club made it point to show their annoyance with any question I asked. Also, we sat there for a good 45 minutes without any drink service. This happened on multiple occasions. Big bummer. I feel like the resort was sorely understaffed. The lines for some things were crazy. Like getting into the pool, trying to order a drink at the blue martini.
Overall we paid way too much for the service that was rendered for the weekend.

A/C in our room stopped working on the second night of our stay. We were told twice someone would be up to our room to address the issue but no one ever showed up or even reached out. The next morning the hotel offered us a $25 meal credit because of the A/C issue. I thought that was pretty ridiculous considering the room came out to $400 a night.

The property itself is nice but the staff could use a pep talk. Some of the staff look like they hate their job and don’t realize when you say thank you usually you expect them to respond with You’re welcome.

We had a great time at the Golden Nugget in Lake Charles! The property has a lot to offer—great restaurants, fun shops, a very nice pool and separate beach area, and of course, the casino. It’s definitely a little older, but everything was clean and overall well taken care of. Overall, a fun and relaxing stay. We’d definitely come back!

They are not transparent pet friendly, they do not accept psa animals 75$ a day per pet. The resort fees are an additional 25) per person. Do not go there unless you book thru their website if not everything is extra. Charged additional 30$ per night because I requested new room due to disability, anxiety, ptsd, wanted to be closer to elevator was on 15th floor moved me a bit down the line. Horrible will never stay again.

Being that this was my first time to stay at the Golden Nugget Resort & Casino, I was pleasantly surprised and enjoyed my experience staying there. I will be back.
