Stay in the towers it’s a much nicer room. Only complaint was that during the week after 6 o’clock there was nowhere to get any type of snack.

As someone who grew up in Northern Michigan, it’s disheartening to see how overpriced and underwhelming some of its once-proud destinations have become. Case in point: Grand Traverse Resort. At $500 per night, you'd expect at least the basics to be functional—like a coffee maker that makes hot coffee, dry floors under the desk (I think we all know what that indicates), and an A/C unit that doesn’t sound like a freight train. Sadly, the experience only got worse from there. Unpleasant staff, lackluster service, and absurd pricing across the board—$20 for a peanut butter cookie and a medium coffee, seriously? To all the families visiting with kids, spending their hard-earned money here: I’m honestly sorry. You deserve better. Places like this are turning what should be cherished vacations into overpriced headaches. Also, it's become clear that using platforms like Expedia no longer guarantees value or protection. Their customer service seems powerless to intervene or mediate when issues arise with these properties. Northern Michigan deserves better, and so do its visitors.

It was an okay stay. The spa was the best part. For the price I was not impressed. My daughter used a hot tub and one of the pools, and she got a little break out on her skin. I also think if you are not a regular here, you are made to feel stupid because the signs are not clear to get to certain things like the adults only hot tub.

We booked our room five months ago for $500 a night and somehow still ended up in the basement which felt damp and smelled like dirty wet socks. The room itself was out of date and the bathroom door hits the toilet when you open it. All the restaraunts close early. If you like overpriced underated rooms, golf or indoor pools this place is probably ok. I could have had the same experience at the Holiday Inn for $200 per night.

The Resort was very nice and accommodating. Rooms were clean. Golf courses and staff excellent. Food was good, especially the Grille at golf course. Very close to Traverse City and other places. Private beach was great! Cons, bathrooms were small, had to buy coffee each morning, shopping and some restaurant hours limited. We would definitely come back.

Very clean rooms and attentive housekeeping staff. However, rooms that aren’t in the tower have extremely small bathrooms and very little drawer space to unpack into. Tower rooms are very spacious and newly remodeled. Property was well maintained. Pools, hot tubs and spa were clean and in working order. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Golf courses are beautiful and easy to get to. Overall a great vacation.

Was not crazy about the round shower head built into the ceiling. Hard to use and there was no grab bars in the shower. I feel that’s dangerous especially for older people.

First time staying here, expected it to be nicer based on the price. Room was decent size but bland, we could hear everything in the room next door. View was nothing special, mostly of buildings. Fairly disappointing overall, probably stay closer to town next time.

Sporting options are excellent from pools to gyms, tennis courts, golf facilities and more. Dining options were also fine. We dined at the Aerie restaurant which offered decent value and fantastic views over the Bay. We also enjoyed the Sunday Buffet plus an evening refreshment at the Aerie bar with views over the golf courses.
