Hilton Garden Inn Ames

The staff was great and the room was very clean, but the light fixtures were probably the worst I've ever had in a hotel room. Good luck if you want to do some reading there!

Great room

Close to the gas station and several restaurants

No help from associates, digital cards did not work at the pool, gym or any outside doors. Front desk associate upon arrival did not greet guest. Around 11:15 on check out day, we were called and told that we left a laptop and a bag and maybe something else in the room. The called did not see the items, not look at the room prior to making the call. We quickly left our lunch (in another town) and drove to obtain the items that we were very confused about leaving at the hotel. The hotel staff assured us that we had left multiple items in our room and were inquiring if we had actually left. After we left our lunch and turned back around in the opposite direction of final destination, we received a call from the hotel staff that we had not left anything in the room. The cleaning staff did not recognize the packed up pack-in-play (owned by the hotel) or the tray that the coffee sits on, it was confused for a laptop. This delayed our trip over an hour. The disorganization at this hotel was astonishing. We can to swim and they were cleaning the pool. There were not guests there...couldn't they have done this prior to check-in time? It felt very intrusive and unprofessional to have a creepy old man cleaning the pool while my family and 2 daughters were trying to enjoy the hotel we had paid for. I would give 0 stars for the overall experience, given this is a HILTON hotel. I have way higher standards for customer service, hotel cleaning standards and overall appearance.

We love staying here! The beds are so comfortable and it’s roomy, clean, and the staff are excellent.

Out in west Ames, but easy to get to and a modern clean spacious facility

During my stay the Suite I booked was very clean and house keeping was great and respectful with my stuff i had in the room as I booked for multiple days. They knew what to throw away and what I might want to keep I was impressed when I came back to the room as I was in a hurry in the morning to get somewhere and left it a bit disorganized but I came back to an excellent cleaned room and my luggage and belongings unbothered. I also like that it is close by a place for night activities "Perfect Games" it's a very fun arcade place for all ages with bowling this was perfect. Thanks for the great service and having me stay at your hotel during my stay in Ames.

Paid for a king suite, bathroom 2 toilet was broken and would not flush, no one came to fix it. No bedding for the pullout couch, had to call for extra linen and only received 1 pillow

Hotel and room was excellent, clean and well maintained. Parking was a little though but not impossible. The area will benefit of some restaurants

Under construction and didn’t know, gym was closed, the room was fine except remote didn’t work for tv and conditioner was empty

They certainly took less concern of someone who booked through Expedia. Had to move to another hotel. Then back again.
