Hotel Hive

It’s right next to GW and very walkable around the area. The room is very compact. No extra room to store clothes. All clothings has to stay in luggage and closed in. The room is smaller than the one in the picture. Other than that if you travel light and a day or two, this could be perfect place.

Overall it was great! Our only issue was how small the rooms are and ours was downstairs(dungeon)

Adorable place! The staff was super friendly and very helpful. We would definitely stay here again. Avoid the restaurant run by &pizza at all costs. Their food was horrible!

Friendly staff and clean, functional rooms. No bottled water available in room or upon request or for purchase - we were told they had run out. Breakfast opened with server advising that they were out of waffles and oats, so only options were breakfast sandwiches and tater tots. Great location by GWU.

My daughter and I stayed at Hotel above during our spring break vacation. The hotel was clean and staff was great. I especially enjoyed being able to communicate via text. The location was convenient to many of the great tourist attractions and had nearby access to public transportation. The hotel had a pizza and bar on location. The pizza was pretty good and made to order. The bar didn’t have much of a beer selection but still great. I would definitely recommend staying at this hotel

I came across Hotel Hive by pure chance. In fact it was not my first choice as we initially booked at the citizenM. However after reviewing the space, we determined that for our length of stay we wanted a little more breathing room and quality of amenities that Hotel Hive seemed to provide. We eventually decided to cancel our booking at citizenM, and took the plunge with only pictures and glowing reviews to guide us. Hotel Hive provides an ideal experience for travelers that are looking for a space that is well located, affordable, and with excellent on property amenities such as a pizzeria and bar that makes your time there just as enjoyable as time spent out on the town. We adored our room (King Loft) for providing everything we needed, and nothing we didn't. The staff was impeccable. Max and Jayla in particular were fantastic for providing recommendations and general service. Be advised that the rooms are on the small side, and somewhat spartan in terms of storage. Closets, dressers, mini fridges, etc. are absent. However, for travelers accustomed to living out of their suitcase it is such a perfect space to serve as a launching pad for a DC experience. It's conveniently located to transit - only a short walk from the Foggy Bottom metro station. It's also easily walkable, bikeable, or otherwise accessible to all major monuments and museums on and around the National Mall. We are so glad we took a chance on Hotel Hive, and would gladly stay again on future sojourns.

The staff are excellent!!!! So friendly and accommodating!!!! This hotel is very clean and the beds are comfortable. Would stay again and again.

Everything was great. I needed an iron and it was brought to the room within 3 mins of calling the reception. We had a drink at the bar and the bartender was extremely friendly, knowledgeable and funny. Great experience.

Overall, the facility, staff and location were nice. However, I didn't expect to stay on the basement floor when I first heard that my room was located on the first floor. Because of this, I wasn't able to open the window thus mouldy smell. The room was tinier than I expected from the pictures and the basin wasn't in the bathroom, which I don't particularly prefer. Paid nearly $300 for a night but was kind of disappointed.

I enjoyed my stay; the staff was welcoming and invaluable. The rooms are clean and comfortable, and the locations are walkable for main sightseeing.
