My Place Hotel - Indianapolis Airport/Plainfield, IN

Terrible communication

The room was nice and very clean, but it had a smell as if it were quite humid. The staff was lovely and overall the place was nice to stay. However, it's important to be aware that the kichenette is not equipped, so you'll need to bring your own kitchenware and cooking supplies.

They were able to let me check in a little early which was nice after a long day of traveling. As I looked around the room, I did notice there weren’t any pot, pans, silverware plates, bowls…a lot of the stuff one would find in a kitchen. I needed to go down to the front desk to ask if they have any of the above items. They did, but they are for purchase. The clerk did me a solid, since I was going to only eat breakfast in the room, all I needed to buy was a bowl and he had plastic flatware behind the counter and all I needed was a spoon. After a good night sleep, eating breakfast, I got cleaned up to get the day going. As I was showering, which was nice and strong and the water felt like it was softened…that last bit isn’t common in hotels and I approve. I noticed the tub drain was pretty slow. I had standing water up to just below my ankles. As left for the day I let staff at the front desk know about the slow drain and they said they’ll have fixed before I return. And they did. The rest of the stay was uneventful. The rate was reasonable. The room was comfortable. The staff was friendly and accommodating. I would stay there again for next year’s Gen Con.

Loved the full kitchen

There is a lack of any negative comments on our part. Our first time to stay in a My Place hotel. We were very pleased with cleanliness, rate, and friendlyness. We definately will stay again at My Place whenever available.

Staff was amazing!

The receptionist at the front desk (Ashely) was amazing. She definitely deserves a raise. We were 4 hours early before check in and yet she accommodated us and got us into a room immediately. Also she heard us talking about getting breakfast somewhere gave us a recommendation that turned out to be some really great food. And inexpensive. She was very nice and informative. The hotel was very clean and better than we expected at an inexpensive price.

Newer property, I like the amenities and the price. First time I heard of this brand. Hoping there's more locations coming!

Checked in around midnight. The entry door was locked for security reasons. I picked the courtesy phone up to call for someone to let my family in. The phone rang witjour anyone picking up and eventually hung up. I could here the phone ring on the inside. My wife called from an outside line and unable to reach anyone. I tried the courtesy phone again, and after several rings someone appeared at the front desk to let us in. I told the desk clerk we've been there a while trying to reach someone. She apologized and said she was back in the laundry room and couldn't hear the phone. Not a good first impression at midnight after a long day's travel to not be able to check in. Not coming back.

The room I chose had most of the amenities needed for a short stay. I was surprised that they did not clean the room every day. But overall the room was clean, quiet and comfortable. Only hiccup was the keycard to the room quit working and they had to reissue another.
